Post Game - Knights V Broncos.

During their good run, Knights fans were saying getting rid of Bennett was the best thing for them and slammed the Broncos heavily after their Round 1 defeat..

Fast forward a couple of months, Broncos are on top and Knights are struggling.

Life can be great.

Yeah now some are saying Bennett wasn't the problem and the club is just mediocre and I have to agree. Haven't done anything since Joey retired.

How good is it having a coach that can inspire a team like that.

The dicks down south wanted Bennett to fail so badly after Newcastle fell off a cliff. He knew that he was on a sinking ship and wanted out.

As a coach, his record is undeniable.

Milford's best game for us by far. Jordy was fantastic as well. Great performance.

That is a blight on his coaching record then. Got to hard and then went to where the better squad was

Great win to watch. Milf is getting better everyweek. So is maranta. He will be very solid soon. Got a lot more pace then i thought too.

Only pitty is the 2 super soft tries.

Oats needs more involvement in the first 3 tackles. Everytime he made a hit up he made ~15 meters.

3.milf
2.kahu
1. Maranta

I'm probably in the minority here but I'd rather have Parcell as our utility than Taylor. I like the stats and little I've seen of Parcell and think he's a similar replacement for Kodi.

You are not alone. Taylor is a halfback not a backup hooker or utility. Give the job to Parcell

I hope Niko is fine but if not I'd like to see parcell get a run.

Great 2nd half to get the w.

I think I heard medial ligament damage mentioned.

I'd say he is gone for a few weeks.

It was no 71-6 but winning is winning. Full credit to the boys

3-4 weeks is what Bennett said in the post match press conference.

I am still buzzing after we pulled that off!! What a fantastic effort from the boys! Praise, praise them all. Milford is the messiah!

Milford needed time to go from one-man-hero to playing in a team environment and contributing to the success of his teammates. Those half-break he was making earlier in the year are becoming full breaks, or at least his surrounding players are learning his style and benefiting from offloads even if he can't get through himself. Granted, the Knights' two best back-rowers were out, and it was on the edge that Cheap Shot Scott would have been loitering around waiting to stick a late elbow in, but it was really nice to see regardless.

Two awesome moments to take away were Maranta finally feeling like a Bronco after that bootlace tackle, and Oates telling Gagai to bite down hard as he makes him his bitch.

I'm still holding myself back from getting too excited, but at least, you know, it feels good to be a Broncos supporter.

Kahu is deadset a permanent replacement for Hodges. If he doesn't get fed up and leave first. If Bennett can keep rotating him into the squad over the next couple of years then it will be a simple slot in for Hodgo at retirement. He still needs to gain the confidence etc. but with games like that then he will progress. Plus didn't Bennett say it is like this:
Fullback
1. Boyd
2. Kahu
3. Maranta

So I feel pretty confident that if the kid stays fit he will join the run on squad when Hodges leaves and will have plenty of opportunities in the meantime playing as a replacement backline member.

Just watched the highlights reel, Milford's field goal would have still gone the distance if he'd kicked it from 48-50m out.

Kahu should be our permanent goal kicker. I have seen him in his junior days and he could hit them pretty sweetly back then. He has a unique style but it works. He hasn't goal kicked for about 6 years, so I can only imagine he will get better and more confident the more he kicks. He may just be the goal kicker we've been missing for a long time.

I think with Parker, and how tough the position is that he plays, its just an extra thing that he doesn't need. Fatigue can take its toll and at times I believe some of his misses may be related to just being that little bit tired. That being said Cozza has done a great job with goal kicking regardless.
