Post Game - Knights V Broncos.

Feels really weird waking up after a win on Tuesday.

It does feel a little weird as a Broncos supporter..

But it all becomes better when I realize that Origin is on tomorrow night!

Took $8 broncos 1-12 when score was 18-6.......My dislike of Maranta continues!!!! Great tackle though!

Anyone that is still hating on Maranta needs an uppercut. He has been sensational for us this year and has really improved. If he was Copley and playing like this, you would all be blowing your load. Bennett has justified his faith in him and Maranta has been repaying the faith shown in him ten fold.

Get out of my head!

Yeah, with byes before the next two Origins, it could well have been Stagg's last game for the Broncos. I must say he played exactly that way - like it could be his last game and he'll go out with nothing left in the tank. Big thanks to another Broncos stalwart.

That tackle from Maranta is why I like him. He's not exactly a gifted player, but he's got the heart and the determination

The live game thread was hilarious, nearly everyone sinking the boot then the come back happened so quickly and the turn around in tone, good stuff, fans riding the highs and lows of the game.

I totally agree with this. I love maranta for this reason. The amount of players that are loaded with natural talent that just piss it away and if he had a quarter of their natural talent he would be a superstar, yet he just chips away, gives his all and works on his flaws as best he can.

Go Lachy!

A few years ago in Origin camp for the 20's, Kevvie showed the video from the year before. He wanted them to see what was required; it was a clip of Maranta crawling and fighting his way out of the in-goal. He stopped the clip and said that is what is required when you play for Queensland.

Maranta is a completely different player to last year. Credit to him. Without him, I doubt we'd be where we are on the ladder.

Good win from the boys. Hunt needs to sort himself out, seems down on confidence. I think he's really lacking the help he requires in the halves. Hopefully with Milford starting to find his feet, he starts to come good.

And he shouldn't be touching the ball when it comes to kicking until he's sorted that out. Be that his shit small drop-outs, or off the tee to try and stick it over the goals!

Pretty proud of the guys second half effort last night, I was a bit worried at half time but to their credit they lifted. We started hitting in defense and just controlled the rest of the game. It was great to watch.

By far Milfords best game this year, he looks like he is warming nicely to the 5/8 challenge.

Kahu was outstanding as well, I'm hoping that boy can stay injury free.

No doubt he has improved a lot from last year and full credit to him for that

But I can't agree that he has been "sensational"

Much improved and very solid, yes, but sensational is Corey Parker standard

That maybe my favourite win on the season.

Was just about to write up a thesis on why I hate Origin affected games and how they're not a true reflection of the competition but then Newcastle folded and Brisbane found their rhytmn.

It was Milford's best game for the Broncos. He's starting to look more confident out there and his choices with the football created plenty of opportunities for his outside men.

Put it this way, it was such a good performance that he made Jack Reed look good.

In fairness to Jacky-Boy, that was a great put-down just before half-time and his two tries were pivotal.

Our wingers were the best two props (with the ball) on the field and deserve praise. I thought the 'turning point' of the game happened in the 34th minute where the Broncos were working it off their line after two repeat sets, Vidot makes two big carries, wins the second and gets the offload away for Milford to get Brisbane down in the Knights territory. There was no looking back from that point on. Only part of Dan's game that disappointed me was his work under the high ball. I'm not talking about the drop either, it was his take in the lead up to the Knights second that bothered me. If he had his foot on the line, it's a 20m restart and Brisbane would have been on attack. Maranta made a similar mistake but at least it can be excused since he had the posts to deal with. That's why Dan will always be good in games like this but not in others.

Every week for the past month everyone on here has said "Milford's best game in Broncos colours!" - further amplifying his improvement in the 6. Onya Milfy.

That's exactly right.

I can't fault Lachlan's work ethic or effort, and he has certainly surpassed what I expected from him, so he deserves all the credit for that. But there is a reason why Wayne moved him out of fullback, and then out of centre last night...

It's a pity though, because like B4L said, if he had half the talent of some players out there, he would be phenomenal.

Even though he does thoroughly deserve it for everything he puts in, he still wouldn't make my full strength team.

What a great win! Hung in there in the first half and showed a ton of maturity and grit in the second to bring it home. Top games from Milford, Kahu and Maranta as well as Macca, great leadership. Fantastic kicking from Kahu, has to be first choice when playing going forward. Straight up rugby style, probably thought he was wearing the ten. We are looking ever better and in great position with two byes in the hand.

Only criticism, we still stand back and wait for the attack to come to us as evident in the first half. If we can work on this we'd have to be a threat in the final rounds and possibly finals.

good work lads!

I liked the effort of both Boyce and Whitchurch. Boyce had a couple of moments early but recovered well and was strong with and without the ball. Whitchurch barely put a foot wrong and was strong in D as well as had a few good carries.
I'm a Whitchurch fan and was glad to see him get some time and do well, he has the ability to be very good.
