POST GAME POST GAME [Round 3, 2023] Broncos vs Dragons

I think to become the best the standards have to be raised. For what our forwards are capable of i thought they were well below par until that last 10 mins or so. They are a lot better than what they did tonight imo.

I thought the scoreline flattered us tbh. That last 10 mins masked a lot of mediocrity in that display. As i keep saying though, our fitness levels are way, way better than last year. That can only be good for the future.

Someone already mentioned Jensen and Tapau early in the second half, and I'd agree they were strong. I thought Riki was pretty solid as well. No doubt the scoreline flattered us, but honestly I thought it was more the Dragons just managing to hold on rather than us playing badly. And when we got the opportunity we put the foot down - which is something we've been calling for.

First half was attrious and if we turn up anything like that next week, the flippers will eat us alive.
Staggs finally looked the goods. Paix was brilliant and I think we are finally starting to see Riki develop too after a slow couple of years.
We will need Haas next week, so hopefully is available otherwise we may be in a bit of trouble. His last 10mins was game breaking.

Capewell plays like he is busted, but it's hard to only rate him on stats because the team seems to think his leadership is vital so aslong as we keep performing as a team I'm not overly concerned yet.
He needs to be moved to 13, I think his defence there would be fine, and Carrigan is an absolute handbrake on the attack inside the attacking 20m. Capewell has solid ball playing.

When did this Haas incident happen that he's on report for? Surely there's nothing suspension worthy

I think once Kobe is fit......Capewell has to sit on the bench.

Riki had the best game i've seen from him for a long time.

In regards to tonights game, i still think we were fairly mediocre, they just ran out of gas towards the end where we still had plenty of energy in our legs. If we played as well as last week i reckon we put 60 on the Dragons tonight. We just didnt have the same fluidity.

Probably the best forward ever, IMO. Deadset amazing footballer.
I think he was the best combination of natural physique and proffesssionsl attitude i have seen for the broncos (although carrigan and haas are pretty good modern alternatives.
The thing is he did it for a career across two codes and then carried that proffessionalism into coaching. Its something our younger players can look to to as a mentor and an example of whats on offer with the right attitude.

I'm still yet to see a replay of it. I recall him hitting Molo i think it was, and they put him on report after the fact so i'm presuming the bunker picked something up.
