Twiztid said:My points on the game.
QLD Good Points
Too classy across the board.
It is hard to beat pretty much the Australian backline.
Forwards did well in going forward and finishing their their tackles.
Attacking Tahu and Hayne's side payed off twice or more.
Ballin played really well for his first Origin game. Handled the pressure well and got them moving every set.
Qld Bad Points
Got away with a fair bit in the rucks. Layed all over NSW for most of the game.
Lost count of the amount of forward passes they got away with.
NSW Good points
In patches defensively we were in the match.
Ennis, Watmough, Gidley and Hayne probably our best performers which is saying something.
Idris handled himself ok for his first game, but almost dropped the ball on his first carry.
NSW Bad Points.
Team selections was stupid.
Again our halves went missing.
Kimmorley looked lost.
We need a 5/8 - Campese, Barrett or Carney should have been there and moving Lyon to his more dangerous position.
Hayne needs to be at fullback or get his hands on the ball a lot more, though Gidley was improved in his attack.
We need to have specialist wingers and centres playing in their positions.
After the 20 min mark when QLD started coming back our gameplan turned to shit and we had nothing.
No real ball movement, it all looked rushed and messy.
Most of our attacking plays came down to kick it high and hope for the best.
The Creagh try shouldn't have been given.
The knock back was very close but I think they got it right.
Other than that nothing to cheer about.
Poor crowd.
Congrats to QLD. As usual played better in the conditions and frankly looked like they were playing dry night football. Hopefully we can go up to QLD and step up.
Did anyone else think this game didn't seem as aggressive as a usual Origin?
i think it went both ways with that tho seemed like there couldve been a few penalties for laying in the ruck but they let them all go.
And i thought tahu was agressive with all those elbows and swinging arms he was throwing in in the tackles
