I agree on Arthars, he deserves it, especially on form. I hope Kevvie doesn’t f*ck with the recipe too much this year.
Barring the necessity of injuries, we make room for Kobe to come back in and that’s about it. Make all the “future stars” pick themselves by being outstanding in QCup.

The signs are there this year that we can actually let them develop in QCup properly as opposed to desperately pitching them into first grade after a few decent games and hype to try and halt the slide

While Cobbo can play first grade, imagine how much more complete and consistent he’d be with another year of QCup. That should be what we do with Mozer, Mariner, Te Kura etc from here on

Kobe will come straight in for Palasia, but that should be it

Plus a lot of these guys mentioned will get their chance during origin.

Love what he brings. Imposing figure off the bench. Been a great pickup. Hope he extends.
I agree. If we were not to, that would mean next year we would be without our 15, 16, 17 that played this week.

I would be hoping to resign tapau (given he maintains his performances) and another budget middle with nrl experience. I am concerned about running too many young forwards on the bench if we pick up a couple injuries.

I think we will definitely need to go shopping for a Fleggs replacement though, we don't have anyone coming through ATM that can give us close to the impact he does off the bench.

think he got like 150 odd meters in 36 min he had an awesome game

I think we will be hoping that Willison will be ready by the time Flegler leaves.

He just isn't, he would be good as a Palasia replacement, probably now already even, but he isn't close to what Fleggs brings, not from what I've seen atleast.

Obviously he won't like for like replace what Flegler brings because he is a different sort of player, but definitely think he could still provide great impact off the bench like Flegler does.

Also gotta remember we have Piakura and Hetherington as well, so I think we will still be well stocked in the forwards department next year.

Given Flegs is on quite a bit of coin it would just be more prudent to look elsewhere for his replacement.

He isn't Fleger and it's Naive to think he can magically be anywhere near his level in a year.

Piakura is an Edge a different type of player and has been a bit slow in his development, Hetherington is a different type of Forward, he is a lock and a Much smaller body.

I think that money would be better spent re-signing players, instead of going out and signing another bench forward.

I am not saying that he will be as good as Flegler is this year, but I am saying that I think he could be a great cog in our bench forward rotation.

A bench of:

14. Paix/Mozer/Walters
15. Taupau
16. Willison
17. Hetherington

Most likely none of those guys will be at Fleglers level next, but I think working together and all together they will be very effective for us off the bench.

The cap is up over 25% now, unless we plan on paying Haas 1.5 Million a season to re-sign we will be a much weaker team in the middle if we only focus on re-signing players, it can't be undersold how much his impact off the bench builds our entire play when we come to rotate our forwards, I would prefer to keep it going at the same or similar level if possible.

I guess we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this.

Of course if there ends up being someone on the market who we can get at decent value, I wouldn't mind signing them, but at this point I would much prefer to just back the forwards we have and back them to develop this year.

I said this in the rumours thread, I'd be looking at Josh Kerr. He was a fringe origin player a couple of years back but now can't even break the Dragons' side, so he'd be cheap as chips and a really good ready made depth option.
