I think Kev has handled himself extremely well in the media this week.
Clearly DD has seen what we have all seen for a while now, and given him the tools in the offseason to better handle the media.
Yes, he looks pretty nervous from what I’ve seen but that’s to be expected, its probably his biggest challenge in club land thus far.
The club has put a lot out about this being our city, our stadium, our home town etc. so really the club is pushing the rivalry just as much as anyone is.
Hopefully behind closed doors he will fire the boys up and they respond. Much like origin, he needs these boys to really rise to the occasion.
Timing is key, but if this group can’t get up for this game and coming off 3/3 then they haven’t turned the corner that we all hope they have.

I can't remember the last time one of our regular season games was hyped up this much. It feels like a grand final week.

Trying to stay away from all the rubbish until kick-off on Friday night.

Won't be an easy match. The Dolphins will want to make a statement, and I fully expect their blokes to come at us non-stop for 80 minutes. They won't relent. I just hope our boys come into the game with the right mentality and focus.

Unless an obvious opportunity presents itself, I feel it would be best to start solid and play the percentages. Keep it simple and complete our sets. It's going to be a battle, but if we can weather the early storm, that's when things may start to open up.

I agree but then I think of blokes like Carrigan who just outperforms on the big stage. We all saw him in Origin, he just goes to another level in these big games. He will bring the lads with him and we will bash the dolphins

Was there any reason given as to why Wayne Bennett didn't attend yesterday's 'Battle Lunch' event ?

If there was no good reason and he just 'didn't feel like it', that's pretty poor from him imo.

Apparently, 40% of the Dolphins memberships live within 15km of the CBD and that that would be absolutely killing the Broncos. I mean, where did they expect the memberships would come from? Did they expect them to only come from Redcliffe? There would be a heap of old school Dolphins fans that would live in and around central Brisbane. Gave me a giggle anyway

Love his digs calling them Redcliffe.
I think Kev's the perfect coach for this game with his passion for the Broncos and Brisbane.
If we can't come out firing and show this is our town and stadium those first 3 wins don't mean much and our attitude hasn't changed.

He had other matters to attend to apparently. No explanation given as to what it was.

I think there's another reason, he's still bitter at the Broncos.

It’s not complicated at all. If they leave in the rough times or feel allegiance to any coach no longer coaching here they aren’t rusted on fans.
And how should they be punished?

...thats what I'm hearing around the back of the sheds as well....

Milford will play....and is ready for a big game.

Hates the Broncos essentially.

Sean O'Sullivan:

“It’s important I do my job as well as Adam does his. I have massive respect for him as a halfback. It is unbelievable what he has done in the game and it’s inspirational for a younger halfback like me. He has won a premiership and the control he plays with and what he has done for the Broncos team is a big factor in their success. You can see he has got the keys to that team, he steers them around the park really well. He has been a godsend for the Broncos, so we need to shut him down.”
“Learning from Nathan was unreal. Going back to Penrith was a really smart decision, just to learn from Nathan, Jarome and their coaching staff. The Panthers are the premiers for a reason and I have taken their advice and implemented it into my game. The big thing I learnt was how Nathan builds a game. He doesn’t try and win the game in the first 10 or 15 minutes. He understands what setting up the game looks like and he looks for little cues with the defence and uses his vision to exploit situations. I’ve worked hard on that. With more experience and game time, I will improve as a game manager. It doesn’t happen overnight, but I’m confident I can make more improvements in my game."
“Wayne has been massive for me. I now have more trust in myself as a playmaker and when you have a coach like Wayne who believes in you and lets me run the team, that only helps my confidence.”
“This is a massive event for Queensland rugby league. I have good mates like Patty Carrigan and Walsh, Reece has been into me for a few months about this game. I loved my time at the Broncos, there were a lot of good people there, but I’m now settled at the Dolphins and winning the derby would be great for the culture we are building.”

If someone invited me to a “battle lunch” I’d probably have reservations too.
A media wank fest about the "Battle of Brisbane".......?

Yeah, **** that shit. I'd be sending my 2IC or 3IC as well.
