PRE-GAME PRE-GAME [Round 5, 2023] Broncos vs Wests Tigers

Far out it's gonna be a long week. I know we have every right to be anxious about facing one of our recent bogey teams but it's still so crazy to me that we have to be all "danger game" when we're 4-0 and playing really good footy in patches (with a lot of work still to do obviously) and the Tigers are 0-4 and I've watched a couple of their games and they've been mostly atrocious. We can't possibly lose this... can we?!?!

You are aware of our record against these guys right?

Tigers by 8. Redcliffe game was horrid, and I imagine a lot of the players won’t be concerned because we still got the W. It looks like we’ve performed worse each week after an elite opening round.

I forgot how excited I was to have the boys coming over to play the Warriors this year, only for them to shift the game to bloody Napier lol. Fair play for them getting out to the regions but eh.

I think we can beat all of those teams, it's just going to be whether or not they can stay focused as none of those games will be easy, I know no game is easy but sometimes you can only play for 1 half of footy and win (like we did last week).

The Darwin trip is never a nice one either.

Since the stupid manufactured alleged “battle of” is behind us, let our group recover over the weekend & come Monday, they should just get to work and focus on improving our mistakes.
Way too many mistakes & drop balls. Must improve on them.
I think they all will be levelheaded & play confidently.

Would Hetherington be close to a bench spot against the Tigers. I am sure he is with South’s who have a bye this weekend.
he needs to be on the bench to say the least.

This will be a slaughter.

If even one of our guys is on fire, it will turn into a massacre.

Can you imagine if any one of Walsh, Cobbo or Maam has a cracker game?

Believe it or not, it will be almost five (5) years to the day since the Broncos last beat the Tigers when they meet next Saturday.. Yes, you’ve got to go all the way back to that shitty try-less thing on March 23, 2018 when the broncos won 9-7 😵‍💫

Even longer with games at Suncorp. Last time was in Round 11, 2017.

The last time we beat them at home, Hunt and Milford were the halves pairing.

That’s true but we need to provide a platform to do that. First 50 we just need to tear away at 20ish (give or take a few) points just off hit ups, getting to the kick, building pressure and tries off the back of hood shape on the tigers line. And back that up with great defence and from there we can wear them down and start playing a little more frantically but foot on the throat try to score as many as we can.

Problem with this team is they are so tense until they score some points but once they do they go off the reservations with energy trying to score from anywhere on the field. Don’t get me wrong I love that but it’s the wrong approach to the game when it’s in the balance. We have to earn it first and I haven’t seen much earning outside of the Penrith game.

So all we gotta do now is beat this mob and Storm.... lol
I hope the broncos players bring the "it's our house" stuff into the storm game.

Bcos no one knows who they are in Melbourne and most of their squad are from qld it's like their dream stadium and treat it like their home.

I actually like the dolphins coming in and destroying the storm more than any impact on us. The storm "fans" will, and already have started, ditching the storm if the dolphins win more. They also will take a lot of the "melbourne" development area. Melbourne might need to start working a bit harder in Melbourne...
