It's only two months until Origin 1, at the moment, based purely on form and personal preference, this would be my 17 for the first game of the series, I think Guerra (much like McQueen), hasn't done enough at club level so far to retain his spot, I'd feel much more confident with Papa running off Thurston.

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Inglis
4. Chambers
5. Gagai
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith (c)
10. McGuire
11. Papalii
12. Gillett
13. Parker

14. Morgan
15. Myles
16. Thaiday
17. Lillyman

Given the result of Game 3 last year, I think Kevvie will stay loyal where he can.

I think Walters has already confirmed that Inglis will be fullback. It's his spot to lose.

So my line up would be something like.

1. Inglis
2. Boyd
3. Chambers
4. Gagai
5. Oates
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Myles
11. Guerra
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Morgan
15. McGuire
16. Gillett
17. Lillyman

Honestly, I think Myles on the bench is just not going to work. He wouldn't really provide as much impact off the bench as the others.. He is better off starting.

You're asking me what I'm on? You come up with some of the worst team lists I've ever seen, tone it down champ.

Thaiday is extremely fat this year in case you haven't noticed, he'll be playing prop, whether it's off the bench or in the starting line-up is the only debatable question. I'd prefer McGuire starting.

1. Greg Inglis
2. Corey Oates
3. Justin O'Neil
4. Will Chambers
5. Darius Boyd
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Cooper Cronk
8. Mat Scott
9. Cameron Smith
10. Nate Myles
11. Aidan Guerra
12. Matt Gillett
13. Corey Parker

14. Michael Morgan
15. Josh McGuire
16. Sam Thaiday
17. Josh Papalii

Left centre is a huge problem. I believe Chambers will fill Hodgo's boots but the Maroons aren't blessed with too many options out-wide so I'm going to go with the big game experience of O'Neil as a stop-gap.

One option I would consider is playing Michael Morgan out there but I don't like the idea of having an inexperience defender partner JT.

Here's a smokey that deserves more consideration: Ben Hannant. He's the forgotten man in the QRL but if you ask North Queensland fans he made a big difference to their side. He's starred for the Maroons in the past and could provide some much needed go forward in the middle.

I don't mind the O'Neil option, he's been really solid in attack and defence for the Cowboys the last couple of seasons, has origin experience. Hannant wouldn't be bad either, did you hear the other day that he actually won a 100kg+ triathlon up at Noosa in the off-season? He's as fit as he's ever been, I wish he was that dedicated at the Broncos.

Since when does O'Neill have Origin experience?

The more I think about it, the more I warm to the option.

Even if there are concerns over the defence on that edge, you could easily just keep Chambers there (where he played in Origin 3) and have O'Neil (or whoever) defend on the more secure right edge.

This could work.

Ah never mind, remembered incorrectly, he was 18th man in 2013.

He has origin camp experience at least.

I'd put Chambers on the left centre position and take a chance with Morgan on the right, possibly bringing Segs or Granville into the utility position.

I like the idea of Hannant too... he's been very good at the Cows, and has plenty of Origin experience too.

Also agree Guerra probably should make way for Papalii based on current form, but he hasn't let Qld down so I can see Kevvie staying loyal.

18.Lilyman

Ideally I'd move Boyd to fullback and keep Inglis and Chambers as the centre pairing. I am not keen on Gagai in the centres as his defense isn't great but he is an incumbent so I expect him to be in the side.

Hannant has been going great and has always done well for Qld so I wouldn't mind him getting another go AS LONG AS he's not in the way of any younger props. This team has need to start rejuvenating for the last few years and has done so in the backs but not so much in the forwards.if it's between Hannant and Myles though, Hannant has been going much, much better the last two seasons and Myles looked just a patch of himself in last year's origin series.

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs Cowboys

Not sure where to put this but here seems ok...how do people think Morgan would go as centre for qld in this year's origin. Given gi is likely full back a spot should be up for grabs. Chambers and ???? Morgan has size speed strong defence. ..he plays in a channel for cows at 6 so to push out one wider shouldn't be a big issue.

But if Myles isn't there who is Gallen going to whinge about?

Re: Round 4 - Broncos vs Cowboys

I'm with you, Morgan should definitely play centre this year.

Yes, centre is a very specialised defensive position, but a 5/8 wouldn't be too disadvantaged. He's perfect as an attacking centre as he plays that roll running off Thurston anyway. Morgan is a better fullback than 5/8 IMO, so his defensive reads should enable him to play confidently.

1. Boyd, 2. Oates, 3. Gi, 4. Chambers, 5. Gagai, 14. Milf (it'll be dce or Morgan tho, milf is better than both of them).
