I mean is that supposed meeting that took place even true? Unless I missed it I never heard any players or madge talk about it? Afaik it was just more fake garbage buzz was spewing to save face since he looked like a complete clown.

I don't think that's a fair statement.

The Broncos ran over teams in the second half consistantly in the back half of the season. We ran over both Raiders, and Penrith to get extra time. That isn't a coincidence against form teams in finals. We also ran over the Storm in the 2nd half to prove that. Come back kings should be the talking point.

You could say Penrith got lucky in the 23 GF with Nathan having a blinder in the last 20 minutes, and Reynolds imploding. Even the commentators were trying to coach Penrith back into the game.

Walsh was the difference in our 25 GF, just like Cleary was in 23. Winners celebrate, losers make excuses. Lots of excuses....

I think there's been a number of reports basically all centred around that manly game.

Teo confirmed they had a bonding session after the manly game... and I think that was after what Foordy mentioned about senior players telling Madge to tone it down. I think Bhunt or Reyno mentioned talks after the manly game as well, which may have been about what Foordy is talking about.

I had also seen comments on Reddit about Captain's runs being less physical around the same time... they didn't necessarily need to be reports from journos as it could've been people that go and watch them train at Red Hill.

It does seem like the Manly game was a catalyst... of course Reece returned the next week against titans as well, so he was probably just as much of a catalyst.
 
Man watching this GF is so ****ing sweet. For so many years since they started doing these I have been like I can’t wait until we get to do one, it’s better than I dreamed.

We need to get Smoothy back, what he did for us in that finals series and the way the guys talk about him, he needs to be back in the team.

Ive heard the howarth stuff too. Its INSANE that they mention it tbh lol.

We lost our halback/captain/goal kicker, our most experienced player and 5-8th/hooker, our WINGER for 15 mins at the end (easy target for kicks then). We had 1 person on the bench, we had smoothy defending on the edge, shiba on the wing...

How THE ****... the shitness of australian nrl media is ****ing incredible to me lol. Even the podcasts get bought out
 
You need luck if you are going to win a GF running over the top of teams in the last 20, you can't really setup for that. If you go through the Raiders, Penrith and Storm game, you can pretty much come up with one play that if it went the other way, we probably don't win.

Canberra, Fogarty, if he nails the field goal which any half worth anything would have done, we have to do it the hard way.

Penrith, Cleary knocks the ball down, Willison scores, it could have gone anywhere. This is probably the one that you could argue we earned the right because of the fact we were attacking their line.

Melbourne, if Kamikamica grounds the ball, I don't think we come back from that. Walsh was there to his credit, I still think he should have scored the try, the impact wasn't that forceful.

For all of those things to not happen, sequentially, that's where the perceived luck is and we leave ourselves open for that sort of scrutiny when we played the way we did. It's low percentage, especially against the top sides. They can usually find a way to turn it around.

Buzz claimed it first in the pre-season, then the story came out mid-year of Barrett having to tell Madge to calm down and players asking it to stop and Buzz said told ya.
