Q Cup 2010

I wasn't there but I had people there. Apparently T Smith had a shocker. Hopefully he just had an off night. No report on Setu - which I guess means he wasn't bad but didn't stand out either.

Went down to the Tweed today to see the Dolphins beat the Seagulls. From a Broncos point of view there were some nice performances from Michael Spence, David Hala and Josh Hoffman.

Hala especially played well, considering it was his first serious hit out since injury. He's a big bopper!

Was that nil all game on tellie? Unusual to see that result at this elvel!

He's a wrecking ball isn't he!! Similar sort of player to Fui Fui Moi Moi (minus the brain snaps!!!!).

Yeh it was the Saturday arvo game on ABC. There was a fair breeze around so kicking was extremely difficult, but you should've seen the laughable attempts to set up for a field goal from Wynnum. Fair dinkum it was hopeless. Burleigh didn't really get an opportunity.

I got 2 right, and I was lucky to get that because I forgot to change my tip to Mackay!!!

For anyone interested the QRL Website will now have footage of every QCup Game. A great addition icon_thumbs_u

East Tigers vs. Mackay Cutters game called off on account of Cyclone Ului.

Are you shitting me. What a fucking joke. What ever happened to rain, hail or shine.

So what happens now, played at a later date?

LOL, I think a cyclone is a justified reason to postpone a game.

365 kilometres east northeast of Mackay.
The cyclone is expected to cross the coast between Ayr and Mackay early Sunday,
possibly re-intensifying to a Category 3 system before landfall. The cyclone is
then expected to weaken inland later on Sunday.

Pussys its not even gunna cross in Mackay. BTW humidity 97%

Also considering pretty much no flights are able to get in to Mackay - Tigers probably wouldn't have got there anyway.

They will decide at the next meeting of clubs if the game will be re-scheduled or the points shared.

Round 2 results.

Norths 22 Tweed 12
Central 32 Sunshine Coast 18
Mackay-Easts postponed
Souths Logan 24 Burleigh 10
Wynnum 18 Northern Pride 16
Redcliffe 40 Ipswich 10

Ladder
Redcliffe 4 (+32)
Central 4 (+24)
Norths 4 (+12)
Wynnum 3 (+2)
Souths Logan 2 (+12)
Sunshine Coast 2 (-4)
Ipswich 2 (-14)
Burleigh 1 (-14)
Mackay 0 (-10)
Northern Pride 0 (-12)
Tweed 0 (-12)
Easts 0 (-16)

Will be interested to hear a report from BroncoMatt who was out at Dolphin Oval this afternoon watching some of the young Broncos go around. Ipswich from all reports were very impressive in their win over Easts last week so the Dolphins must've played very well.

Ipswich didn't have Zillman this week and Lacey was a late withdrawal so that wern't at full strength, however the Big Dolphins pack just bashed the Jets forwards out of the game and then the speedy Dolphins backline did the rest.

From a Broncos point of view -

Hoffman didn't see a lot of ball in the centres but did make a big break where he ran 40m, drew the fullback and set up the support nicely for a try. He spent the last 10 minutes at fullback and did look dangerous with his couple of kick returns. He did cop an elbow injury though and is in doubt for next week.

Hala had another big game. He was in the starting line up this week and made plenty of metres. It's only a matter of time before he earns himself a Broncos jersey again.

Spence started from the bench and was solid but would of liked to see him get more involved.

Good thing they didn't take your advice. Smashed Mackay.

Pffft smashed Mackay. A few trees down. Would have made for an interesting game.

Do they make footy boots with flippers attached?

The majority of Mackay is without communication of any form. TV stations are down, radio stations are down, power is out to the entire Valley, and they're now expecting flooding.

I'd say they got hit hard enough to cancel another Cutters loss.

Awesome day at Langlands today. Tim Smith played an excellent game to steer to mighty Tigers to a resounding victory over the Comets. Was a dominant performance from the whole Tigers team - several players could have been awarded the MOM. For the Comets, Ben Hunt was quiet - but in saying that his pack was dominated which would have made things difficult for him.

Tim Smith, Ben Vaeau, The Hornet, all legends!!! Great win by the Tigers!
