There isn't much you can do with the backs with pretty much everyone being injured. I guess you can replace one numpty with another, but it won't really make a difference.
The forward pack mostly picks itself, though I'd still have McGuire there. If you are going to pick Jake Friend over Harry Grant because of experience, why drop McGuire?

Carrigan is also prone to making really bad defensive misses. He isn't ready for many minutes in origin.

I can understand not picking McGuire in the starting 13, but he should be included on the bench. The fact that a bloke like Kerr and also Hess made it in front of him...wow

Hess looked like being one of the best forwards in the game a couple years ago but he seems to have regressed rapidly....like hes been coached by seibold

Which is absolutely a fair enough point and I can appreciate he's got a few question marks around his character, so if that call has been made to cut him for that reason then fair enough and Bennett has to answer for that call whether it's right or wrong.

I'm just not convinced by any argument I've really seen yet that this was a footballing decision and not related to a change in attitude or culture because I think on his footballing deeds in 2020 and his previous deeds in an Origin jumper alone, he's absolutely worthy of a spot in that squad.

Bennet has had to make hard calls plenty of times as hes been around for ever...pity he didnt make a few that were needed at the broncs in his last couple years....anyway...
