Awesome ... won a MOTM award in one game. Scored one amazing individual try (step, speed, running over the top of the fullback), and set up another couple.

He hasn't lost much from his peak - and at his peak he was one of the best footballers we've seen. Is still an amazing target for the ball-in-the-air, and his defense is solid.

Bennett doesn't have the strings to pull.

first his club would have to release him ... unlikely

then he would have to somehow be able to enter Australia despite our international borders being closed due to a pandemic. even more unlikely

finally, the NRL would have allow him to play. never going to happen (for 2 reasons)

Not saying it should happen but didn’t Tom Hanks just fly into Australia? If all the other reasons didn’t exist he would be able to come in if he wanted to.

Ponga in doubt for Origin, has a torn labrum in his shoulder. Will need to have surgery now to be fit for Round 1, or delay it so he can play Origin and risk missing the start of next season.

I think he'll opt for the surgery immediately.
