I know I got some bias but although Ponga might be a loss in attack I reckon Brimson will be an improvement defensively both individually and for the team. Ponga has 48 tackles this season and 36 missed in comparison to AJ with 53 tackles and 4 missed in half the games. I know stats don't tell the whole story so I'll also add he seems to know where to be when defending on the line and has pulled off 1 on 1 try saving tackles both in the line and covering across. He might just be what we need given how many attacking threats the blues have. Time will tell I guess.

Is Origin going to be played under the same rules as the NRL was this season? If so, I legitimately could not care less about it.

Brimson is in the middle of a purple patch and Ponga is not. It's probably not a huge drop off based on the differences in form, but Ponga is without a doubt the better player IMO.

Qld been written of to go down 3 zip...im confident we can win it!!!if theres a few injuries to key players for the roaches during the finals it will be interesting.....please NO Oates or Offa though

I'm more scared about Munster's knee than Ponga. At least Brimson is a replacement in form. Who have we got in the halves? Morgan ruled out already.

that's a positive for QLD anyway.

can't believe i'm going to suggest this, but given his form for the second half of the season (and the lack of quality replacements) Ash Taylor could be an option (only other options are really either Norman, Hunt or Milford)

I've always been a big fan of Taylor's talent ... but since he got his million dollar contract his form has nosedived. Holbrook has done a decent job in resurrecting his career

Ponga catching fire with his passing game and setting up a few tries was one of the few hopes we had imo. Still looking forward to watching Brimson though.
