QLD Team

Karmichael needs to start, he is an EPIC big game player. He won't do anything stupid, he'll be tough and uncompromising, bring Billy in once the forwards are a bit tired.

Let's just hope there is no complacency - it's a side full of class and experience that should be able to walk all over NSW, especially considering all the newbies NSW has, however there are some bolters in that NSW team

no surprises really, lets just hope spilly billy doesn't go all world cup on us

I dont get this whole thing about Slater needing Hunt to handle the opening exchanges. Hes a fulltime fullback lol, he can handle some big boys running at him ffs.

Yeah the Hunt v Slater debate is getting really old, really fast. They are both decent fullbacks, big deal who starts.

Couldn't agree more Nashy. If this starts another one, I seriously think I'll go mental.

Anyways, great team as expected. Pleased to see Harrison in the second row, he has been going great guns for the titans.

In game one of last year Slater got smashed on every kick return and as a result had a very quiet game. Hunt is tougher IMO and thats why he's better off starting.

Of course he can handle it, but why not maximise the effectiveness of both players? Last year, game 1, he got hammered in the opening 20 and went missing for the rest of the game. That first quarter of an origin game is far tougher than any nrl game. If we've got someone who can absorb that pressure, then Slater can come on fresh, then why not?

It's not about who is better, it's about their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Strongest 17 we have available by far. I'd have Harrison starting ahead of Thaiday though. This way Johnson will help the relatively weak right side defence, and Harrison will help the weak left side defence. I'd also have Hunt starting, since Slater can't play 80 minutes of rep football without making some stupid mistakes.

Edit: Didn't notice Harrison was actually starting. Read it as Myles somehow.

Totally agree with Scotty - I'm not trolling, I want what's best for the team, Slater has to be there at the dying minutes, but Hunt needs to start - that's it Nashy - I won't mention it again

Well said.

Now no arguments kiddies, please!

I'm sure Mal has a super plan! Whether that be Billy the Kid starting or Hunt starting I'm sure he knows what he's doing. OK as long as he doesn't have special K in the 6 jersey that is.

In Mal we Trust.

I'm sure whatever plans are made, they are Neil Henry's, and not Mal's.

Yep, that. Mal will fire them up, Henry will come up with the plans.

Because I'm super handy on this electronic computron. (and bored at work)

Here's Nashy's super dooper awesome and also super handy to the power of rad side by side teams for no reason apart from keeping me amused for 5 minutes at work list.

I'm personally thinking the NSW supporters here should just start changing their avatars already.

Thank god it's Inglis who has to mark jennings - he's a real worry and hodgo struggled

Hes also a worry in defense, Inglis is going run straight over him. Folau on McManus should be another cracking match up [icon_lol1.

Jesus, if there is a fullback you want in the dying minutes its Hunt.. Slater given pressure and responsibility is a liability.
