QLD Team

Judging by the way Mal's used Berrigan and Hunt in the past few years, I can't see him taking off any of our starting playmakers just to give Cronk a run.

He'll play about 20 minutes, defending in the backrow, and help out at dummy half with Smith still on the field. That's the way I see it anyway.

x2

I guarantee that's what you'll see.

Geez QLDer I know you are passionate about Origin but there are countless examples of worse players being picked and worse selections made than Cooper Cronk. To say it's the worst thing ever is like saying Adrian Brunker is making a comeback

I hope QLD get some retribution for last year. Especially with that cat Creagh.

Cronk could be handy off the bench playing a running role like Berrigan.

I think his toughness will surprise some people.

the only thing that i can think of that could be good with cronk there - imagine having cronk on one side, thurston on the other, lockyer free to just roam around as he pleases, with smith providing the ball or taking charge himself? that excites me.

but to do that, who do you take off for cronk?

Harrison.

Thats If he comes off the field, 80 min player.

possibly, but that would weaken us defensively a fair bit IMO.

Well you either weaken defence by subbing off a back rower, or you weaken attack (and potentially defence) by subbing off a centre.

Considering NSW will be hammering Thurston's shoulders all night and that they are made of glass.. I would say Cronk is a very safe selection. Can cover Smith or Thurston should they be out of action at any stage through the match.

yeah agreed, which is why i dont think he should be there. the only way he can be used if smith and thurston stay uninjured will weaken the team IMO.

I agree.

But then I thought the same when they subbed a back rower for Berrigan. I was wrong then. Occasionally I'm wrong. Very very rarely.

The only thing that will beat this Queensland team is complacency.

and if Chuck Norris was named in the NSW side

Not when he would have to face Mr T [icon_razz1

So many people are acting like arrogant tools about QLD getting 5 in a row like it's certain. It's exactly the sort of thing which will bite us on the arse, humility now, celebrate afterwards.

Despite the teams I would not at all be surprised if NSW caused an upset in Sydney.
