CRICKET Queensland Bulls 22/23

I'm officially at a loss as to why we're persisting with Clayton over Street. They're the same age roughly, and Street has outperformed him all season in first grade, and was outperforming him all of last season despite a slight dip in Street's form towards he end of the season.

Here are their first grade numbers this season, for reference sake:

Jack Clayton - 14 games, 300 runs at an average of 33.3 - 0x 100's, 2x 50's
Bryce Street - 14 games, 612 runs at an average of 55.6 - 2x 100's, 2x 50's

There's gotta be something going on there, right? Do you have any insight? @1910

Few things- those stats are including 20/20 and One Day runs so that's got nothing to do with picking a Shield team.

They're finishing round two of the two day comp this weekend, Street has played both games for Uni and Clayton haven't played at all.

Street will bat tomorrow.

Street has played 25 Shield games and averages 33.
Clayton has played four and averages the same- fifth game currently.

Last season Clayton came in and got, 109 on debut and then 85 in his first two games- last two rounds of the season.

While Street year went 23, 1, 43, 18, 23, 24, 5, 14, 87, 6, 0, 6, 14, 23, 22, 23, 143- slight dip? He didn't score a run after round one.

Come round one this season you're going to drop the guy that finished the year scoring 109 and 85 in his first two games?

Clayton clearly hasn't batted well the first two games this year against Tasmania and Blues with 0 and 13 but those first two games buy you more than two more games.

People carrying on like Street has scored 10,000 runs for Qld and averages 60. Street also opens so who are you dropping Renshaw or Burns?

Street has started the season well with 200, but the Bulls are winning, and the openers are pretty solid.

Unless you want Street in the middle which he hasn't done since his first game. He's pretty much found a home opening.

Wildermuth can't get a run either at the moment, so guys are missing out but it's up to them to force their way in and the way Clayton finished last season he deserves more than two games.

Neser and Steketee get the breakthroughs, 2 wickets needed, NSW need 14 runs to make Qld bat again.

Such a rubbish outcome. We were going to make those runs comfortably. Umpires stop play due to "bad light" with 3 overs remaining. How about a little leeway due to the fact that NSW were time-wasting every single ball?

Nice way to lose fans of an already struggling product.

Bryant 122 off 101 for the twos against Victoria.
Street 0

Burns caught and bowled.

Dear me this is loose.

211 might be a good score.

WA 4/27

Skeketee 3/9

Make that 4/9

Wowsers.

WA 5/27

Queensland might only need two bowlers.

His best is 7/44 last year- might be at risk here.

Boooooo no bowling change

Booooooooo

Steketee 6/38

16 wickets at 13 in two and a half games.

Backing up his 32 last summer.

Bulls 6/63
What an odd game.

159 lead- 200 might be enough.

Batsmen 7-11 for both teams will be about 8 of the top 10 scorers this match so far šŸ˜¬
