Failure from Harris as well, there's really nobody who wants that other opening spot huh? Maybe Khawaja or S.Marsh at this stage if they can string some runs together.

Edwards gets that ball dipping back in late almost every ball, impressive. He bowls a few shockers but with experience, he has a fair bit of potential.
Fraser-McGurk, he's been copping some extremely good bowling and looks pretty good out there, he's one for the future for sure...he also looks a LOT like a young Steve Smith.

I've been watching a fair bit of Shield this season, there are a few players to get excited about coming through:
1. Street
2. Hunt
3. Solway
4. Fraser-McGurk
5. Andrews
6. Green
7. Sutherland
8. Edwards
9. Agar
10. Bartlett
11. Kelly
Note, this does not include any main test side guys or Aus A. And some of this side above isn't that exciting, particularly in the bowlers and there is no spinner or keeper.
I wonder if this might be the test side in 5 years (without knowledge of which other kids are coming through):

5. Labushagne/Pucovski (there are some big question marks on him at the moment)

Yep, it is woeful. It actually sums up Australian batting at the moment. Victoria has a good bowling line up and anyone not named Steve Smith has trouble with anything that comes fast with or without a bit of movement and anything that turns anything more than 5 inches.
But if it is gun barrel straight and nothing doing, they will score anywhere between 20 and 200.

Pierson is such a frustrating cricketer. On talent, he is probably the best potential batsman-keeper in the country, plus he has leadership ability but he just constantly gets himself out when he is set and needs to tough it out. He usually goes for some dumb lofted shot though. If he can mature and get that idiotic tendency out of his game, he could be a 5 year + test keeper for Aus.

Might be worth exploring the old ‘reverse the order’ strategy when you have Stekkers and Gannon scoring 45s with everyone else getting <36.
This probably would’ve been a game that Neser would crack a nice 60+ too going off those scores
