People People People, Why does Carroll have to play 50 + mins???

Setu and Sims play roughly 30 each week, likewise Carroll. Carroll has the experienced head, one of the best defenders in the game, locky feels safe around him, reliable as ever and will never drop a ball plus still has the pain of last years loss to melbourne in his belly. Carroll should not and will not be dropped!!!

I can't believe so many people are saying he should be dropped, its a disgrace

Carroll has been known to drop the ball before. He's not perfect!

But I tend to agree the forwards need his experience out there.

Clinton has to be there no doubt. As for Tunza, put him in as a starter 2nd row and switch him for Sims or Te'o and drop Glenn, I'm not saying he's been poor for us, I just think that we need experience because this is the game that decides where we finish in the top 8.

IMO, Carroll can be twice as effective if he plays twice the minutes he's playing now. TC is doing OK out there, he's not doing anything flash but he's doing no wrong - He's solid. However, I think if we get him out there for 50 minutes a game he can be much more useful. Get his fitness up, and the longer he is out there making good hits and showing a good example to the young kids, the better.

I just think 30 minutes is a waste - Keeping Setu (and bringing in Clinton) and dropping TC, we dead set won't know the difference considering how many minutes TC is playing right now.

Although I don't believe in 'pre-planning' of the way you are going to use the bench - we need to get some form of formation so we can get more minutes out of the forwards... that way there may be more room for injuries and reactive decisions... I think we can get more than 30 mins from some of the forwards... alas it might be too late to experiment with such things at this point in time...

I just heard that T'eo was injured at training this arvo.... but that was on Facebook so I'm not sure how much truth is in it.

Hmmm, it concerns me that they are not selecting Clinton again. Are they really trying to get rid of him. He has not had a run for a while, if they were planning on using him in the finals I thought it would have been smart to name for this game to give him a run and to clear the cobwebs.

He did only get cleared to return from his Injury last week. he lost his place in the team due to injury sustained in the Raiders debacle 5 weeks ago, and since then we have had 4 wins.

they are also saying it on the sportal forums, they are claiming it is a calf muscle tear, which if so could mean he is gone for the season.

PROP Joel Clinton has won a recall to the Brisbane Broncos side after Ben Te'o was ruled out of Sunday's clash against Canberra with a calf injury.

Te'o, originally named as an interchange player for Sunday's match against the Raiders at Suncorp Stadium, injured his calf at Broncos training today.

The Broncos acted swiftly, calling in Clinton to replace Te'o on the bench.

Not a bad scenario, even though Teo has been in superb form. You'd imagine Taylor will keep playing wide and Clinton will smash it up the middle.

I doubt they are trying to get rid of him. Maybe they are just sticking to the formula that has been working so well with them lately. All the boys are on a roll, it is hard to knock them back after the turn around in the season they have given us. Or maybe Clinton isn't 100%.

FTR - I personally would love to see Clinton back too, I just think this is perhaps what is happening.

Te'o's no massive loss for this game. Clinton will be raring to go and we'll need a bit more size, the Raiders have a pretty big forward pack.

I'm hoping for a 35 degree day on sunday with it cooling down to a lovely 30 or 31 by kick-off with humidity of about 80. :) Give them a taste of the tropics.
