Utility David Stagg, who also has an option in his favour, has yet to settle on his whereabouts for next season. He is weighing up an offer in England, but his manager Col Davis said it was increasingly likely Stagg would remain a Bronco.

"Things can change but if I was a betting man I would expect to see David in Brisbane colours next year," Davis said.

the players all want five star contracts earlier and earlier these days, no waiting for their time at the one club; if they can't get the deal they are after hear then they will go else where to get it. good for them short term, bad for us long term.

THE NRL will push on with plans to increase the salary cap next season despite the gloomy financial forecast for Sydney-based clubs.

The decision comes as anither of the game's leading players yesterday announced he would finish his career in England.

NRL chief executive David Gallop said the league was committed to a $100,000 increase for 2009 in line with the collective bargaining agreement.

Yes Chumba, it's called a salary cap.

Most certainly Coxy and I have no complaints with the cap, more so young players or thier managers chasing too big a contracts too early, and because of the lack of players coming through and the player drain to union and the UK, they know they can ask for and mostly get big dollars somewhere. Good on them I guess, but it all adds to the gradual destruction of the qualty of the nrl. [icon_thumbs_do very sad

For me, it'll definitely be Tunza who's missed the most... :cry:

Barring the signing of another front rower, i think the loss of Webcke, Civoniceva and Hannant in 3 years will take it's toll on the Broncos forwards next year. Clinton will have to improve by leaps and bounds, Taylor will have to step up, and i'm still not convinced he has the right head on his shoulders for the week to week NRL competition. Kenny is a good prospect, and there's Thaiday, who I prefer in the back row. I just hope we have to go forward we need next year.
