PLAYER Reece Walsh

It's a worry given that the rorters still have near zero junior development despite the broncos and riff showing that it's the key to success in the modern, expanded comp where the best clubs with the best talent are subjected to a higher frequency of insane offers from desparate outfits. That said, I'm confident that he stays after Mam re-signed. If Mam was still off contract I'd be panicking at the thought of the rorters giving them both insane money to go over as a package.

I reckon we have to get Cobbo sorted immediately and almost concede that Staggs is lost (unless he is willing to play for unders). Xavier is the one that really worries me when it comes to the chooks.

He's on the money with younger people - my mate follows the footy - not the Broncos - his girls only ever watch it if Reece is playing. Couldn't give a crap about his team at all, it's pure Reece Walsh.

Probably no shock the kid has a higher following than the NSW Blues does. He's a social media darling and the young people eat him up.

NRL seriously needs to give thought to topping up his contract to keep him in the NRL (club agnostic) before the likes of Rugby come knocking seeking the attention he brings.

I've said it a few times on this forum but he's the Michael Jordan of Rugby League. Everyone wanted to be like Mike.
When Benji hit the scene he was big, I was only a kid when that happened but I don't remember him being as big as Reece, everyone was doing the step but the signs, the young girls, fans from other teams and people follow the game because of him. Social media and the internet plays a big part.
We could pay him a 500k contract and he could still be the highest paid player in the game with everything else he could potentially have coming his way. He's a sponsors dream.
If/when Union come knocking with their armaguards full of cash the NRL have to do something he'd be too big a loss to the game.
Probably a good thing NFL don't go chasing Aussies to make their game even bigger because then we'd be in some trouble.

it reminds me of how Taylor Swift got young girls into football I mean they were never interested until she got involved and now it is happening with Reece Walsh he is bringing the young girls in excluding me I mean I am 28 this year
When you get to be my age, 28 sounds pretty damn young.

Andrew Voss spewing out hyperbolic bullshit....??

I Dont Believe You Will Ferrell GIF

On Walsh, where does he rank on all time talent scale?

Obviously he lacks composure but is still a baby. His mix of speed, agility, evasiveness, playmaking, kicking, passing, running, x-factor and competitiveness - well how many have we seen like this before? Obviously Slater and Lockyer come to mind but Slater didn't have the kicking and the playmaking, anyone else?
Generational talent. Has every right to let his ego run riot, but seems to have kept that in check and becoming a good role model.

I am not 28 yet until December it has been 21 years since I started following the broncos

Listening to Gus , he says they have a bunch of gun juniors on their books ?
Dunno where they grew up . But he seemed to think they are well stocked with prospects .

Slater played Centre in his 1st season ...
And scored a bunch of tries there .

Also I think the reference was to a particular time in their careers not Reece and Billy after 66 games .
