Is this list updated from the round just gone?
Surely Selwyn would of copped a speeding fine if he was running in a school zone chasing Nuis kick.. kid was flying

I sure hope Cobbo develops into the fullback we need. Then the only position we'll need to buy is the 9... I'd be throwing big money figures in front of Smith & Grant

To be fair, every club should be. Only way to topple that kingdom is to make it so they have to dig just that bit deeper for every contract renewal.

With the arrival of Cobbo at centre and the abysmal recent form of Kelly, i think I’ve come around to the idea of starting the season with Staggs at 6. I think Gamble and Reynolds are too slow and don’t trouble the line enough. We saw what Milford offered when a play maker is unpredictable due to their running game.

I’d start the season (pretending for arguments sake, all are fit):

1. Niu
2. Oates
3. Lee
4. Cobbo
5. Farnworth
6. Staggs
7. Reynolds
8: Carrigan
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Hetherington

14. Paix
15. Piakura
16. Flegler
17. Robati/Palasia/Ryan James (?)

I liked parts of what i saw from Nui today If Nui can straighten his attack and fix some things in his game it would be nice.
Bring Paix on early and keep Turpin on the field playing in a lock type roll like today

I just can’t help but feel sorry for Reynolds. The rest of the team will be far improved next season but he’s coming in as the only quality spine player at the club. I know everyone here loves Gamble but I really don’t think he’s the type of player that will compliment Adam. There really just isn’t that quality around him to share the kid or capitalise on his strengths. The pressure will be immense.

Cobbo has been sooooooo good at centre, it will be interesting to see what they do next year. If Niu can learn how to do the 1%ers and put his body on the learn, he is actually a potential gun fullback because his attack and support play are really, really good. Hopefully that half a player he currently is can become a full player and it would allow Cobbo maybe to become a full time centre, which would also benefit Qld.

Gamble's been one of our best without Reynolds. He'll be fine.

That's why he's on the big bucks.

Just a note on the first round or two: Flegler, Piakura, Gamble and Palasia will still have some suspensions to serve. Gamble and Palasia were also injured so I'm at sea over the balance owing.

I'll be surprised if Staggs will start at 6, but Kevvie does like fucking around with his halves so anything's possible. If Gamble isn't suspended - which I think he is for round one, unless the trials count - I think he'll be partnering Reynolds, and Staggs will take one centre.

Oates, if he's still with us, I reckon is a lock. That leaves three of Selwyn, Herbie, Jamayne and Tesi to fill centre, fullback and wing. Of those three, Jamayne seems most likely to be on the outer but you could shuffle that deck any which way depending on how they look in the off season. I'm not impressed with Herbie at centre, but I'm not sure Selwyn and Tesi are necessarily better. Isiah Tass should be the next centre to get a shot, but I suppose Lee will have leapfrogged him.

I'll go with:

1. Niu
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Cobbo
5. Farnworth
6. Gamble
7. Reynolds (c)
8. Flegler (but he's banned so Carrigan)
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Hetherington

14. Paix/Isaako
15. Robati
16. Willison
17. Piakura/Bullemor

I reckon he might have a shot at making the Indigenous All Stars squad, especially if Latrell's still banned.

Basically agree with that list tbh but I’m just not sold that Gamble is the answer. Better than what we’ve had recently though.

Will Willison be available for round 1? I expected him to be out first half of next season.

Oh yeah ACL, I forgot how long they can take. Yep, scratch him. You might've forgotten how popular Gamble was before he got injured/suspended. I would expect Kevvie to continue that momentum. Same with Flegler, Niu, Cobbo and Herbie. They're all in vogue.

I’m a fan of Gamble. He’s the perfect back up half.

Just think it’s a bad pairing. Will he even be as effective on the left?
