I think we just go with Tesi, until Walsh contract is up. Mark my words Walsh will be back at the broncos after that contract.

I thought South's fill in Fullback looked pretty good in the Prelim final, admittedly that's all I've seen though.
Stuck behind Mitchell at South's.....would he be a handy pick up to play 1 for us?

He played well in the first week against the Panthers, as well.

He’s been good this year. In his 7 games he’s produced 5 try assists, 6 line break assists, scored 1 try and averages 111 metres per game. Defensively he’s not good.

I don’t think he would be a good pick up for us. He’s not a fullback. He’s a halfback that’s just filling in at fullback but he wants to be in the halves. Souths want to keep him so we would have to get into a bidding war for him. They recognise him as their future halfback after Reynolds leaves.

I think stats this season need to be taken with a grain of salt, this isn’t rugby league and who knows if these current rules will remain, all depends on the level of flatulence Vlandys has on any given day over the offseason.

Capewell’s defence against the storm yesterday was immense. Hope he brings those efforts to the team next year.

What I really want to see is consistency from Kev. Pick the best 17 and only make changes due to injury and suspension. Now the squad is somewhat settled the time for experiments is over. Dropping of players should now be reserved for the extreme cases - a player on such a bad run of form/attitude that they need to a break or a young fella so brilliant in Q cup that they force a call up.

Assuming no major further roster changes happen prior to next season I think the following is close to the best possible start.

1. Niu
2. Oates
3. Farnworth
4. Staggs
5. Cobbo
6. Gamble
7. Reynolds (C)
8. Flegler
9. Turpin
10. Haas
11. Riki
12. Capewell
13. Hetherington

14. Paix
15. James
16. Carrigan
17. Robati

First preference for injury/suspension cover:

Fullback:
Cobbo

Halfback:
Kelly

5/8:
Mam

Prop:
Jenson/

2nd row:
Piakura

Hooker:
Walters

backs:
Lee/Isaako

Wether it’s through signings or within, by 2023 I’d like to see a new 5/8 (Mam), a new hooker (Paix+depth/Smith or Grant), a new fullback (Cobbo / Manu)

Dear Chris Garry, you are so right about the massive loss Tevita Pangai Jnr is to the Broncos. How will we be able to replace the massive 21 metres from 5 hitups against the Storm? Guess we will have to settle for Capewell and Reynolds.
Didn’t he succumb to a MCL injury after the opening 16 minutes, in which he was dominating a personal war with Welch?

If you call 21 metres from 16 minutes on the field dominating so be it. Welch made a little less for half the time BTW.

I guess you can count metres made as the only measure of dominating. Up to you

people always did with Glenn (and Thaiday in his final year)
I think in those cases it was adding to the observations of actual game performances that they weren’t very effective in most games. I just don’t think stats from 16 injury impacted minutes is a good argument for a player not being good. Especially when he was ripping in and rattling the opposition forwards during that time. But to each his own.

In my opinion TPJ is obviously an extremely talented player, I think him moving on was in the best interest of everyone involved.

Interesting thought, post Roosters spoonish year, they bought in some key players and bounced back up with their promising youth having some experience to learn off, notice the similarities:

Half: Keary / Reynolds
Second-Row: SBW / Capewell
Prop: Moa / James
Centre: Jennings / Staggs

I note Staggs and not Lee because don't forget, Staggs barely got on the field this year, he'll be like a new recruit next year.

I don't think we are that far away from being in top 4 contention IF everything goes right and I am not saying we should be considered top 4 favourites, just that we COULD go higher than some think.

Watching Isaako playing for Magpies, I swear he has been as about as involved in this game as Molford had been for most games since 2019. Can't see a future for him at the club past 2022 assuming he even makes it past the off-season.

Isaako had a better second half and helped create the Magpie's only try today, still a long way off though.

Thought the way he attacked in the second half from what I saw was good but he definitely needed to step up and get his hands on the ball more
