are we thinking nui or cobbo for fullback next year ?
Personally I'd prefer Cobbo
Unless Cobbo is playing Qcup at fullback he's not going to learn more of the position if he's focusing on playing wing or centre in the Nrl and I think he will get to the point in cup that he's going to be irresistible not to pick him at 1 in the NRL squad.
Also depends on whether Herbie is going to be shifted to the wing or stay centre and the plans for Brenko Lee.
Then someone like Nene McDonald or Pierria could have impressive offseasons and land a wing spot.
And if Nui is just keeping the spot warm for Cobbo does Nui just get dropped even if he's playing well

I wouldn't go with round 1 but I would like to see this in the trials:

1. Cobbo
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Lee
5. Farnworth
6. Mam
7. Reynolds (c)
8. Haas
9. Paix
10. Flegler
11. Riki
12. Capewell (vc)
13. Hetherington

14. Niu
15. Carrigan
16. Robati
17. Piakura

james ? and can you see paix playing 80 mins at hooker

swap carrigan and flegler and thats my ideal squad for season opener
add gamble for mam too

I wouldn't go with round 1 but I would like to see this in the trials:

1. Cobbo
2. Oates
3. Staggs
4. Lee
5. Farnworth
6. Mam
7. Reynolds (c)
8. Haas
9. Paix
10. Flegler
11. Riki
12. Capewell (vc)
13. Hetherington

14. Niu
15. Carrigan
16. Robati
17. Piakura
It’s the team I want to see the most but maybe not round 1. I’d probably drop Piakura for James too.

I think Cobbo would do better at centre at this point in his career. I think it’s better to simplify his role for now. That also gives us two genuine threats at centre and allows Herbie to go back to the wing.

17. Piakura
I don’t normally comment on your lists @Sproj y but I think this is a cracker and could well be the best side by the end of the year or start of next.

If you have Mam 6, Reynolds 7 and Cobbo 1 we can see it we can run South's attacking style.

if that spine lives up to its potential and our forwards continue along their current development trajectory that team is gonna be naaaaaaasty

Isaiah Tass (Rabbitohs) & Josh James (Souths Logan Mapgies) have sorted their futures.
