I agree with you but at this given stage there's no real person to offer the position to. Mozer is still at least 1 more season away and Paix isn't given enough time on the field in my opinion. Patience is all we can have and belief that our head team has a plan.
Paix spends more than 30 minutes on the field he leaks points. He can't play big minutes

Billy is better than turpin in all areas. He's been awesome for us
Funny how that worked out.

Badel reporting that Turpin won't be offered a new contract.

The Knights are also no longer interested

Kevvie says:

“At the moment, there is nothing for Jake with us for next year unfortunately,” Broncos coach Kevin Walters said.

“The reality is it was going to be hard to keep Jake.

“We have Billy (Walters) and Cory Paix in our squad at the moment, so as much as you would love to keep all your players, with the salary-cap it’s difficult.

“’Turps’ has played some great games for the Broncos and he is good at those little effort areas, particularly in defence, but with our roster, we don’t have any spots left for the hooker position.”

Walters said the Broncos are happy to honour Turpin’s existing deal in the run to the finals.

“Turps wanted to try and get more game time at another club to secure something for next year,” he said.

“He felt it was hard to secure a contract somewhere else if he wasn’t playing NRL here.

“It (Turpin leaving immediately) never eventuated in the end, so we were happy to hang on to him and we’re happy to honour his deal for this year.”

I know what Kevvie is saying there sounds like we're doing him a favour but he's also doing us a favour and providing a bit of defensive starch in the middle, he's easily the best defender we have in that position at the club and it's not even close.

So you reckon put Turps and Tesi in the same jersey and then you have a complete player?

I think Turpin is a great tackler, the way he rattled JWH last week was quite impressive

Fcking idiot commentators start screaming about a big hit .
Then the replays show it was a head clash . Over and again nearly every game .

The close up of the claret flowing would have turned a lot of people off .

Lately I’ve been seeing incidents like this, the Crichton ear, the Cobbo and Collins KO’s and I can’t help but think the game as we know it has its days numbered.

With the direction society is moving in and the more we learn about brain trauma - it’s hard to watch the opening 10 minutes of origin game 3 and think it has long to live.

NFL in USA had to pay out billions in compensation .
They had a no play - no pay system that encouraged hiding concussions .

Radley being allowed to play after 2 HIA had me baffled ?
That`s the kind of judgement that could back fire in years to come . Duty of care to employees .

Suicide and murder suicide brought on by CTE is a real thing .

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A federal judge has approved a plan to resolve thousands of NFL concussion lawsuits that could cost the league $1 billion over 65 years.

The NFL expects 6,000 of nearly 20,000 retired players to suffer from Alzheimer's disease or moderate dementia someday. The settlement approved Wednesday by a federal judge in Philadelphia would pay them about $190,000 on average.

The awards could reach $1 million to $5 million for those diagnosed in their 30s and 40s with Parkinson's disease or Lou Gehrig's disease, or for deaths involving chronic brain trauma.

The league has been dogged for years by complaints that it long hid the risks of repeated concussions in order to return players to the field.

I don't agree with suing the league, how is it the league's fault. The players didn't have to sign up and play

How is James Hardies fault those workers decided to sign up and work
The risk inherent in playing rugby league of injury and long term effects of injury have been relatively well known for some time. Despite that, the players have still made the decision to play. Even so, I agree that the duty of care owed by the league would still extend to putting in place whatever mechansisms were available to minimise the risks involved with playing.

The James Hardie workers signed up to work in their respective roles not knowing or comprehending the risks to their health of exposure to asbestos. There is some evidence that companies like James Hardie had some knowledge of those risks many years ago but did not provide appropriate warning to their workers or provide PPE to address the risks. It was not really until the early 1980's that real steps were taken along those lines including no longer using materials containing asbestos.

In the NFLs case alot of it had to do with them purposely hiding information about concussions.

I don't think the game is numbered, Boxing and UFC still exists and thats far worse for head injuries.

What's important is that duty of care and protocols based on medical knowledge are followed.

It's not going to be avoidable in all cases but the days of having concussed players still on the field are long gone.

So you reckon Radley was not concussed ?
Or he is a whiz at passing HIA tests ?
