We are going to get belted. We will have our opportunities but our spine will **** it up like every other game in the last 3 shitty years and we probably won’t score a point.

What I would give to have a side that can actually score from set plays and structure instead of just giving it to Haas or staggs and hoping they do something special.

The trials have given me less confidence then I had last season. The thing that pisses me off the most about half the idiots wearing the jumper is all their Instagram posts about how it was good to be out there and good to be playing with the boys. They get belted 75% of the time and they don’t seem to care. It’s disgusting

There is no way we lose to those grubs.

Oh thank god, all these misleading headlines about broncos captain and star half being in doubt for round 1 made me worried something had happened to Billy.

I think we’ll get smashed. Even with Reynolds 3 of our 4 spine players are ordinary, without him it’s same as last year. Walker will get a double and the Bunnies new #7 will look like a superstar.

Jd will also be treating this like a gf. I bet one thing old man Bennett taught him was how to carry a chip on your shoulder. Bunnies 36-6.

Seems like the perfect opportunity to blood Ezra to me. Chuck him right in the deep end.

We also have Tyrone Roberts on Train and Trial, Te Maire Martin on Development, and Paix who would probably prefer to play in the halves. There was some talk of expanding the number of players on tap because of Covid. Maybe the Broncos will apply.

Nah, that sounds like desperation to me and if you're desperate in Round 1, it's a terrible sign. Accept the inevitable, run out with a Paix and Turpin halves pairing or some shit, spare Ezra the ugly debut and just wear the loss on the chin and regroup for Week 2.

If this had happened to James Tedesco the NRL would suspend the start of the comp until he was well again and deregister the medico who delivered the positive covid result.

This is crazy, the wife and I have been so amped to go down and watch the boys next Friday. Now I have that sick feeling in my guts.

Sounds like our halfs rotation is decimated, Walters and Ezra the only two left standing. Another option from left field would be to make it Walters (7) and Capewell (6). I don't think it is worth burning Ezra this early, you want him playing with Reynolds when the time comes. Depending on how Kelly recovers he could be ready to go by then also.

What a disaster this is, the Broncos luck over the last few years has been depressing to say the least.
We can draw on TMM... players outside the top 30 are available if it's due to Covid.

Considering 3 of our options are gone due to covid I'd say we could bring him in.

Another option is Staggs and bring Brenko in.

Staggs was our back up 6 in that game vs Souths when Croft went down and he scored 3 tries.

But yeah really fucking shit way to start the year... waiting for NSWRL to come down hard after Souths put 50 on us... but

"yeah they're missing a few but they still had Haas, and Souths didnt have Latrell so it all evens out.
...
Broncos are in crisis mode and Kevvie is on his last leg 1 round into the season.
...
There's a premiership winning coach hanging around Red Hill in Paul Green... he's been there done that and I reckon the Brisbane power brokers would be interested because it's finals or bust for them this year"

Realistically you just go 7. Kelly 6. Walters and pick the rest as planned.

What date was he "positive" on the pcr? If it was earlier in the week, he could scrape in.

They still have to test negative at the end of the isolation. Also they have to be match fit. Just because they're not infectious doesn't mean they'll be fit to play 80 minutes of the toughest sport in the history of the world.

Having KyloReno out isn't that terrible, it's just a readjustment. KW always planned to run a team without Reno at some stage of the season. Quite simply he doubtless knew we'd be without him and traditionally were more than a 'one man band' as a team, back in the day.

If he has revived the teams essence we'll see if they fight on and make a contest of the opener.
I think we should have an even chance if Walters, father and son understand our 5th tackle should be tightly controlled and rehearsed and especially so without our specialist.

In my opinion trying to execute at maximum velocity isn't a huge help and I'd be teaching them to settle it down and take their time. Get the defence standing still and a crisp pass to our kicker with ample time to try one of our routines. On average I think we'd be better off. All based on Reno's absence of course.
