Tesi and Flegs will boost that side. I don’t want Oates, can’t find the line and just gave us our one non-error prone game this whole season Pereira played well for 2 games and played better than his 3 errors and this forum suggested whilst Oates did nothing for 2 games and played decently this game, nothing amazing. I side with Pereira on that one.

Walters is probably un-pickable he played horribly but to his credit he has been good through the previous trials. Gamble overrated game his end of sets are atrocious and he has no running game. Albert probably lucky he didn’t play and somehow ends up with the 6 because it’s quite obvious with only 20 mins Ezra isn’t getting it.

Goal line defence was horrible but our edges still are very unfinalised. Should be better come round 1.

Let’s pray we can score if we start well against the Rabbitohs because if we don’t they drop there heads. How bad can your mental state be the fucken weak minded pricks. Need to wake up to themselves they and we got very complacent afree flogging a brl side rd.1

Season 2022 and isaako is still a vital member to the squad. At this point I would love to have a gritty team that grinds out wins with solid defence and steely attitude. Our current team still needs absolutely everything going for them to put in a good performance, like tonight, just because it was raining and you knew they wouldn’t show up.

They did show up for 15 minutes and then it all went to literal mud. I’m hoping it is down to training fatigue.

Might be reading too much into it but in the post game Reynolds seems to be hinting towards Alby being his preference
I think it ended up being worded that way, but I think he was originally just saying something along the lines of "Albert was going to get a run, but came down with Covid"... and then he just expanded on what Albert brings... but I think his intention was going to be "in addition to the boys out there tonight we've also got Albert".

From the other thread.
Rd 1.
Cobbo/Niu
Oates/Cobbo
Love Bug
Staggs
Pereira
Alby
Reynolds
Haas
Paix
Carrigan
Capewell
Riki
Kobe

Son of a coach
Palasia
James
TC

Long time lurker and occasional poster, based on trial form this is close to what I expect to see round 1, but not exactly what I want to see.....

Cobbo
Oates
Brenko
Staggs
Pereira
Walters/Kelly
Reynolds
Haas
Turps
Carrigan
Glory Hole
Riki
Hetherington

Paix
James
Palasia/Robati/Kennedy
Jensen
Glory Hole
Sounds like a prospect.

1. Isaako (literally no one else viable until Niu is back... and then we hope)
2. Pereira (right side... I thought Pereira outplayed Oates for the majority of the trials and only fell short in game 3 when switched to the right, because Oates can literally only play one side of the field)
3. Staggs
4. Herbie
5. Cobbo
6. Billy (would be keeping an eye on Albert and TMM in Qcup as they get some miles into their legs)
7. Reynolds
8. Carrigan
9. Turps (max first 30mins ... then only comes back on as a lock if needed)
10. Haas
11. Capewell
12. Riki
13. Kobe (been a standout through the trials)

14. Paix (plays out once Turps comes off)
15. Jensen (I like Jensen's no frills style and work on getting quick ptb's. Off the bench he can keep the errors to a minimum, whilst also working through the ruck)
16. James (experienced vet to come on and keep the game tight in the middle)
17. TC (covers middle and edge)

With uncertainty remaining in the spine... as it has for years now... I'm not expecting a top 8 finish... can only change if some of Niu, Paix, Billy, Albert, etc. have absolute break out years to become a focal point of our attack in the spine.

Isaako
Cobbo (Periera)
Staggs
Lee (Farnworth)
Farnworth (Cobbo)
Kelly (most likely, but will want to up the pace from last start)
Reynolds
Haas
Paix
Carrigan
Capewell
Riki
Hetherington

Walters (Perfect utility that will be needed with two aging halves)
James
Robati
Palasia

I think one of either Lee or Periera will be unlucky to miss out. I think Cobbo has done enough to keep a wing spot.

Would not play isaako at fullback does nothing for us going forward.

Play the closest team we can to what we want performing in round 10-12, forgiving injuries. This team needs stability more that anything this year. We had too much chopping and changing, pick and stick for a good half season unless someone totally shits the bed and can't recover after a couple of games. This team needs belief, they need to feel safe in their skin and shed desperation and replace it with confidence.

My major concern is that when the titans and cowboys got within our 20, unless they had an unforced error, they came away with points more often than not. A top 8 team does not do that.

Nail meet head. How has this not been fixed? I mean what in the actual **** is going on?

roosters, panthers, storm in any interview, it’s all about defence, covering each other and knowing where to be. Effort effort effort.

it’s a shocking look after that “report” about being over trained….

I get it’s a trial but I’m not seeing any structure or scramble.

Without the date on this post it would be impossible to tell if you’d posted this yesterday or as far back as 2018. It’s been true of our team for the fucking long.

The club has been a transit lounge from top to bottom for the best part of 4 years, to be a chance at improving we need to get a settled club & a settled team, or at least the bones of one.

Oates played 10mins in the Wynnum trial and from memory just the first half against the Titans (and don't recall being bad) . Was competent last night so deserves a starting gig.

Adam Reynolds will play Round One:

“There’s no dramas. I’m good to go. I could of played this trial but we decided not to risk it. I am definitely 100 per cent for round one and my experience will help our attack.”

In other great news, the Broncos have uncovered a superstar at fullback, some are calling "the next Herbie Farnworth." A leading correspondent with the club's sister media outlet said:

"The one shining light for Brisbane was teenage sensation Selwyn Cobbo. The Broncos’ version of Latrell Mitchell deserves the No.1 jumper for the premiership opener. In his first senior outing at fullback, the 19-year-old oozed class. The seven-game NRL rookie finished with 107 metres, 13 runs and two tackle busts and underlined his toughness by making several brave charges into the teeth of the Cowboys defence. If first-choice fullback Tesi Niu is ruled out for round one, the 100kg Cobbo has a touch of X-factor at No.1."

I thought Lee and perieria were pretty shit for us last night. Along with most of the team.

One thing I have noticed is our guys have bulked up, Riki and robati especially. Heres hoping it's muscle not fat
