POST GAME [Round 1, 2022] Broncos vs Rabbitohs

Those wingers you speak of don't play for the Broncos.
I’d be pretty confident if you chucked any other outside back we have there for that play, they score.

In reality, it should never have been as close as it was and only was because Oates takes half an hour to wind up.

And also he doesn't have a step back in to beat the man coming hard from his inside.

Ilias was on the inside coming hard and there may have been an opportunity to go back inside (as there was not additional cover coming across).

It looked like Oates tried to wrong foot him by feigning back inside, but Ilias didn't bite and then Oates had to overpower him to the line.

To me it is an issue in Oates' wing play... he carries it almost always in the right hand, but because of his lack of a step he always has to beat the man on the outside. His right arm is a target for the defenders if he ever has to reach out.

Oates has made some remarkable put downs in his time on the wing, but he's not always a guarantee nowadays and I hope that right arm carry and lack of lateral stepping doesn't cost us in the future

How often does he stuff up a put down though? He has a pretty good strike rate of finishing when given the chance. It's not often you see him drop one, or get bundled into touch. A lot of what you said is spot on, but he uses what he has and is extremely effective. Unfortunately nowadays for him to score it needs to be a cut-out pass.

I don't know why am surprised but 360 didn't even talk about us at all. Just commentary on Souths. If we had lost the whole show would be dedicated to us 😂.
Yeah literally nothing, just 100% Souths. Don't think I watched a single episode last year and last night will probably be it for 2022 for me.

I'm in the same boat. I probably saw enough to equal a half hour in total. Lost interest in the show sometime ago. I will see how we go as a team before checking back in.

I recall back in 2015 when it was clear we were probably the best team going around and the same thing. The NSW media only like talking about us when we are down. Thats why Bloke in a bar gets my time these days.

I was pleased with Oates in this game. He showed why Kevvie is persisting with him instead of giving the wing spot to Pereira.

He was always there putting his hand up for the tough carries coming out of our end. He didn't make any errors, and no issues defensively.

But that try. That try is why you persist with Corey Oates.

Pereira doesn't score that.
I dunno, Corey looked very slow, almost like he couldn’t believe he got passed the ball.

Haven't been through the whole thread yet but I can't believe the commentators were banging on that Kelly was offside for his intercept... He was when the ball was played, but you clearly see he gets back the ten.

Pretty frustrated Isaako didn't keep his spot. Hes deserved to stay. Niu needs more time in ISC. Could be to appease Niu.

Hetherington bench is wise, along with Walters.

According to Badel, our win against the Rabbitohs was so impressive that it attracted the attention of Sports Integrity Australia (formerly ASADA) with an "army" of five "descending" on Red Hill

:rofl

Rabbitohs have

Storm
Roosters
Panthers

Next 3 rounds. Hahahahahahahaha they are gonna be 0/4 and incredibly low on confidence and JD under pressure immediately. Sucked in you whinging ****. 3 years later and you and your old mate are STILL going on about not getting a job. Welcome to the fucking real world
I called this in pre season. They're screwed this year

I think I posted here about the fellow Cheer Dad that I know that was contracted as one of the strength & conditioning coaches for the Broncos this year.

When he started he said something along the lines of "he trains women who have better numbers than some of these guys".

I'm just going to say that our improvement would be solely up to him and he deserves our praise. Please send on your words of appreciation and I will personally pass them on. His name is Chris.
