N(SW)RL won't like us winning that game, I expect Ashley Klein to be assigned to us next Friday. Outstanding defence from the boys, that's such a tippable victory against the reigning premiers. Haas, Carrigan and Reynolds were everything. Very happy with how we defended on the edges, just a tough well-earned win :tallica:

Great defence by the whole team and a great win. It was only mistakes by Cobbo and Oates that kept Penrith in the game.

Thankfully Walsh will be at fullback next week as Cobbo tries hard but just doesn't have the hands or football nous to play fullback.

I still can't believe we held them out for all those tackles on our line.

sorry mate can’t agree, Cobbo has looked like a reserve grader (and not a particularly good one) for most of his career and ESPECIALLY tonight. He was woeful.
Looks fat and slow as well as bad hands and little to no awareness running at the sideline in a wet weather game…

Wing or reserve grade next week for me.

Arthurs was very solid on the wing and doesn’t deserve to be dropped after that…

Can’t fault Riki that game, I didn’t see any defensive lapses and he was hitting hard. Might not have the metres in him yet but he looked good. He’s had an off season from hell, so good to see him do well.

Great win that should do wonders for confidence and belief.

The fox commentary was disgraceful. As bad as it has ever been as far as riding one team only. Disgusting.

Reyno was massive, Haas and Patty great as usual.

Only negative I would have is Oates 2nd half spills, just always has that in him, and a very nervy Cobbo who I still don't want at FB. I can't wait til see Walsh in this team at 1.

Enjoy it lads, happy weekend 😍

I get the Cobbo negatives but give him a break. He isn't a regular fullback and has poor hands at the best of times, so given it is round 1 and in the wet, it is going to exacerbate the problem. However some of his defense and last ditch tackles were match winners. It was a total mixed back but some really great things in there.

Has any other team made Penrith look that ordinary before?

Parra seemed to do it to them. It was just a quality all round display. Even with the errors we made, i dont think we had a player who wasnt on their game defensively. You dont challenge for premierships without quality defence. Cant fault any of them in that regard.

Huge win in tough conditions against the reigning premiers away from home.

If not for some terrible, avoidable errors we would have put them to the sword and if we play like we did tonight we can match it with anyone in the competition.

These early season games often come down to effort and heart and who wants it more as combinations are all still clunky and building.. and tonight we showed how much we want it. Absolutely elite defence topped with beautiful game management by a classy Reynolds. Whole team should be proud, they played for each other tonight and basically refused to lose.

very promising signs for the rest of the season, especially with Walsh coming back.
