That's a proud man trying to mask the hurt. Breaks my heart. Really happy to see Latrell so vocal early, let's hope other prominent voices in the game do the same.

The entire comp is gunning for us this year because they are fucking petrified of what we can do when we are on. The sooner the boys (and coaches) understand that, the better, and the sooner we right the good ship. A dynasty awaits.

Super frustrating watch today. Out of the four teams I didn't think we would score the least!!

Not sure if the four(!) kicks that went dead in-goal scared Arey but those bombs were bloody useless. What's the game plan there? We regather and try to pull off some BS try? Roosters fumble the bomb and turn it over? Just nothing plays 30m out.

Walsh just doing Walsh things. It's just who he is so you take the good with the bad. Passing the ball after going to ground hurt us because we had them backpedaling. The mistake that really screwed us was Mam's kick that went dead. 14-10 down, scores a try then Teddy kicks it dead on the kick-off. Take a kick down in their 20m and Momentum completely on our side. He then kicks it dead.

God damn.

Got a tough draw ahead of us and would have been great to get that first win.

He had kick pressure in his face for a lot of those shit house bombs... positioning needs to be better or he needs a second man outside him to take the kicks if he can't get one off.

They were coming off slow ptb's and then rorters are up in his face.

Just seemed like so much was off as soon as Piakura left the field and the middle rotation was completely blown up.

Piakura's injury basically had a ripple effect onto like 3 different players... Patty moved to second row, Haas ball playing at lock and Jensen straight onto the field. Hell even Smoothy playing 45 mins was a change to his role.

Yeah Peeks going off fucked us for sure, but we also need to be better at dealing with that kind of adversity. It's been said a billion times already thisarvo on here but Patty to second row is not the answer. We are struggling big time for second rowers, and we were always going to even before losing Capes.

I cannot believe the solution is just move Patty. That's not good enough. It wasn't good enough last year, it is certainly not good enough after an entire preseason knowing Riki and Peeks are our only true first-grade 2nd rowers. Patston was very good in the trials, I wonder how he'd go given a decent stint in NRL. Though there's obviously Hunt and Baker in the mix as well. Either way, we can't shift Patty.

I guess if there are issues it's best to see them in round 1.

Walters made some bad decisions today. I think we win it if he selects Oates and willison, or if he doesn't move carrigan. We needed the metres from Oates, the impact from willison, and the ball playing from carrigan. IF he reflects on these parts the loss will pay us back in spades throughput the year.

Looks like the Chooks did their homework on our attack as more than a few times Ezra and his runners were easily handled.

Hopefully this is the kick in the arse we needed to realise that it just isn't going to happen for us without rolling up the sleeves and putting in the hard work.

I must be one of the few that thought Cobbo went ok. He is never going to be Herbie but he did give at least one pass that led to the Walsh try that we all know Herbie had no chance of doing so what we lose in Herbies hard runs out of trouble we gain with a centre who can and will actually pass.

He cops some shit for his media rubbish, but if Tallis was playing and that happened to one of his team mates i have no doubt Leniu is getting his head taken off at some point in that game. We were going to and Keary was smart enough to get an early kick off before the bronx got fired up and back in the contest through aggression.

- Cobbo doesn't look fit enough to play centre right now. Looked very tired at times, but I did like some of his touches. Decision making still needs to be better, stop trying to take the sideline, just step back in please
- I feel we really missed Flegler's presence in the pack tonight. I was hoping Willison would play, I'm pretty high on his potential. The wings and centres weren't too bad, but the only thing is none of them stepped up to take on the enormous workload Herbie put in for us
- I thought Reynolds was pretty poor, especially his kicking, but I also think it comes back to our forwards not getting the job done in the middle. He might be at the age where we can't expect him to carry us if we're on the back foot
- Please Kevvie don't have Carrigan as emergency cover on the edge. Love the guy, but I don't think he has the speed to defend there for long periods
- Kick pressure and chase was pretty poor. Roosters were able to put up decent bombs all game because we refused to put any pressure on their kickers. Riki did a great job leading our kick chase last season, let's hope he can get back to that

It's only round 1 though, so I'm sure we'll get it right as the season goes on. Glad the foot is back baby!!!
