Yeah the first part is fine. He doesn't think it's long enough. Thats great... its the second part about what "his culture has endured over history since colonisation".

Perpetual victims like JT are bad for society because they omit conciousness to the ugliness of their "culture". Infanticide, cannibalism and rape towards women and the like. They walk around and pretend that Indigenous were peaceful highly moral individuals that had their lives destroyed by colonisation. It's the card they play at the slightest hint of any injustice. You could argue that JT is one of the biggest beneficiaries of colonisation we have in this country. Despite what white settlers did to his people, on the basis of morality, its only a fraction of what they did to themselves.

If my culture was categorically proven to burying up to 30% of infants alive, I wouldn't be baulking it's ruin at the hands of colonisation to prove a point on the basis of morality... unless your okay with that type of thing?

This is absurd. All societies were pagan at some point and all have done what is described by you. JT should not need to feel shame over his cultures past as either do I for colonization. But he has every right to point out that it hurts when people use words that have been historically used to insinuate you are sub human.

I think the 8 weeks personally isnt enough you really want to rub it out of the game on and off the field i would have been harsher.

As for the whole racism in general talk i get where broncosgoat and co. Are coming from and generally dont get offended at words thinking it more a reflection of the person using them.But not everyone is the same and i know im probably an outlier so am not outraged with the NRL approach,one thing though after reading a little of sam kerrs slur i dont think it should be restricted to minorities shouldnt be able to insult anyone about their race or color of their skin.

Agree on the Sam Kerr thing - it's funny to me people are tying themselves in knots to justify it. As soon as you make someones colour a point of reference in an offensive manner, it's racism. I don't give a shit at all about what Kerr said as a white person, couldn't care less, but if you're ruling down the middle I don't see how it isnt anything other then.

Asking for laws to be selectively applied... can't see how that wouldn't be exploited at all.

I think Sam should have the book thrown at her, what I get sick of is how this has been used to try and distract from what Spencer did. Whatever the outcome with Kerr's thing has nothing to do with this. Not surprised though as whataboutism is the best tactic for racists to deploy.

How anyone can argue this with a straight face and pretend that its right is beyond me. Its just another indicator that society as a whole, is rapidly losing the plot.

The colour on colour argument I also find bizarre. My wife is Thai and we spend a bit of time there. The wicked racism i see against Chinese, Indians and Burmese in Bangkok is next level! So to say people of similar appearance cannot be racist against each is ludicrous in my experience!

The problem is racists and shitheads in general are the minority but they are the loudest and will keep bleating long after reasonable people have just given up.

One thing I do find interesting is we have had pot shots at The Chookpen but in a weird way I admire them, at least they stick up for their players, even when they are in the wrong. Right or wrong they all have Spencer’s back and have been tying themselves in knots to contort the story so that Spencer is the victim. When scummy defence teams have absolutely nothing else .. all they can do is resort to victim blaming and shaming. People like Paul 'Ezra should have agreed to meet Leniu and accept his apology' Kent are the absolute worst advocates the NRL could ever have. Kent & Co are the ones who are mostly running this narrative.

I think you’re looking at that from the wrong perspective. The majority on here have Ezra’s back - I couldn’t be bothered reading the Roosters wankfest but I’m 100% sure there’d be Roosters supporters who think Leniu behaved like a dick.
