Let's everyone just settle down a bit. Broncoshq shits the bed and starts calling for the coaches head. Or cobbos or reynos or whoever else makes an error.

Defence was solid af tonight. Carrigan on an edge was totally fine, defended well apart from the last try. That was after two dropped balls in our own end. The margins are small in NRL, losing BRer within 5 minutes is about all that is needed to make the margins smaller.

The field tonight was very restrictive to sweeping plays that Walsh loves.

On the positive, arthars, CJ, Mariner, smoothy and walters all solid. I thought bringing smoothy on as a roaming lock in the second half was pretty brilliant from kevy. Can't score tries without the football which ultimately cost us the game.

Move onto next game you bunch of sooks!
Nobody’s problem is how Carrigan performed mate it was what was missing elsewhere where it’s far more crucial and he didn’t exactly bring anything there either. It was just fine. For **** sakes teach someone else to perform just fine on the edge. That’s his job it should not have been Carrigan the back up all year. He was really poor on that tactic facet Kev but I haven’t seen anyone call for his head. He made a lot of really mind boggling decisions with no return. Some huge criticism had to be directed towards him for that.

I’m sure during the coverage it had “ezra on report” and then the roosters got the penalty. I was confused.
Roosters got the penalty for the Walsh hold down. I was surprised it wasn't ruled deliberate since it seemed like Walsh was holding down to try and draw a captain's challenge.

I think Walsh needs to be seriously looked at for captaincy. He is the only one who talks and gets them Up and about. Reynolds may be to introverted, and his actions did not speak for him this game.

Exactly it's the loss of his impact in the middle and the ball playing that we play off the back of. He's also our aggressor in the middle with line speed (case in point was him flying out of the line after the Ezra/Leniu incident). We lose so much moving Patty out of the middle rotation and gain basically nothing.

If they don't want to carry Hunt on the bench, then why hasn't Kobe been lined up to be the back row cover?

He's the most mobile, runs a great line and has footwork. Also cuts blokes in half and has linespeed... and Kevvie doesn't seem to want to use him in the middle anyway, because he's been averaging about 30mins a game since the bicep injury last preseason.

Welp, disappointing start to the season, but it is only Round 1.

I'm sorry to say there were BIG stretches of that game, namely in the 1st half where the ***** just straight up out enthused us. Certain individuals also looked very sluggish (looking at you, Cobbo), Reyno's kicking went off the boil hard in the 2nd half and Walsh was more or less kept out of it apart from his try.

Defensively we can be happy with it. Rorters had enough ball to win 2 games but will have to make do with a 10 pointer. Attack was very ordinary, and I'm probably being polite there. It looked like nobody was communicating. All panic razzle dazzle that proved ineffectual especially from Mam. He ran the ball himself straight into a fat line of **** defenders multiple times.

Ref did us no favors, but we should have expected he would put the whistle more or less up his ass. The NRL were never going to ref this game in any other fashion than blood and guts, and we should have been prepared for it.

On to R2, and lets hope they learn a thing or two from this.

Small field suites the Roosters style a lot more than our own . On both sides of the footy really. I think we should have had Oates on one sting if only for his yardage work.

We looked a bit disorganised and frantic which is nothing new really. Not worried at all about that start. We have lost a few blokes so are in the forming combination stages. Once the team finds their groove we will be ok.

There was definitely a knock on I don’t particularly blame him and also wasn’t shocked the ref missed it.

Disappointed how the Rotters got all the rub of the green.

Simply put, there’s a lot of work for Kev & the boys. Wonder how long it would take Walsh to get the errors out of his game.

What can Piakura do stay on the field is beyond me. Once he left the field, it didn’t help our rotation & our boys look gassed 15-18min into the game.

The biggest difference I noticed is, our boys ran sideways most of the game while the Rotters ran straight through and top most game & it’s a disgrace.
