I just hope this 5/8 switcheroo is Griffin's idea, and not some kind of pressure applied by Hoffman which forced Griffin to compromise on the team he really wanted. I really hope so.

Reeks of compromise, players dictating to the coach hahaha what a great season we're in for.

I've seen Maranta play at fb and 5/8 at Qld Cup level and he is quality. Give him a shot at 5/8? At least he can tackle. Haha

LOL if it was some sort of pressure, just imagine what Hooks team would've been like... hahaha our spine:

1. Hala
6. Lowrie
7. Stagg
9. Maranta

Would of suited our one out hit up gameplan

Nahh all jokes aside, its probably the best 17 Hook has at his disposal, besides the obvious exception of Vidot in for Maranta. I wish we all saw more of Strasser, especially in the nines and the trials.

Maranta isn't heartless. He has a crack but his gumbiness holds him back.

That's a bit rich, mate. Where's the photos of you with a big smile on?

His smile is upside down, so i think he has appoint about it being terrible.

Sorry if that offended you, just trying to lighten the mood up... You can't really call that a 'big smile'... its more a look of "Why does Hook keep playing me on the wing, I'd rather play QLD Cup."

Don't worry, it won't be accommodating Hoffman if Kahu comes back and pushes him back to the wing after a few rounds. Supposedly he was doing well in the Cowboys trial at the back.

After the commitment Kahu showed at stopping a rampaging Taumalolo from scoring, I would be open to giving him a go at the fullback spot.

He just threw himself at him with no regard for his own safety. That's the kind of commitment we need in defense.

He is the most awkward uncoordinated heartless back I've ever seen.

Nobody playing NRL is heartless, I don't mind criticising some-ones form but that is a bit low don't you think mate.
I have no doubt the guy does his best whether or not that is up to NRL standard is another discussion.

Don't think it is low in the slightest. Corey Norman last year was a another prime example of a player being heartless, want to dispute that also?

Completely Agree!!! He is far from heartless. That just takes it too far. He puts his body on the line in defence or when going up to defuse a bomb, and gives it his all whenever he plays.

Its just his misfortune that he is forced to play in a position that is his weakest of all the ones he can play. I really feel for the poor guy. He seems a very nice guy too. His team mates seem to enjoy being around him.

I for one don't blame our clubs downfall and lack of winning games on him, unlike some of the other members on here. If we were so good, his lack of finishing wouldn't be a problem. But put bluntly we were not good enough. Its just wrong to blame one bloke.

He, like Hunt is just another player screwed up by poor management. He is not a winger, then why try to make him into one. As a young bloke, coming into first grade, you already lack confidence. On top of that he is playing a position unaccustomed to him. Players play better in their natural positions.

Typical conservative Griffin. So over it.

Agree, he seems to never have enough faith in other players, or to try something different, but seems to show way too much faith in some players despite them not performing.

I'll give Hook that much, that he is loyal to his players. But maybe his players need to act fast in order repay the faith and perseverance shown by Hook cause its about time they start playing it.

I think if you are going to throw insults around like that you should have walked a mile in their shoes, it's easy being a weekend warrior.

You could say that about anything thats criticised as far as I'm concerned what you just said is a red herring .

I fucked up.
