I'm becoming less and less impressed by Reed. He's been really ordinary in attack ever since he entered his second season, but now he's missing tackles too.

Which is why I was questioning his new 4 year deal penned last season, he has never been more than a solid centre who will have his shining moments but more often than not, has very little impact.

He isn't heartless at all, he just lacks the speed needed to be a successful winger, he is a good defender and is very safe under the high ball, he has a ton of heart, unfortunately pace and confidence are his major drawbacks.

Pace isn't his drawback. He was an ex sprint champion that ran 100m in 11 seconds flat when he was 15...

My team:

1. Barba
2. Vidot
3. Copley
4. Hoffman
5. Reed
6. Strasser
7. Hunt
8. Hannant
9. McCullough
10. Kennedy
11. Glenn
12. Thaiday
13. Parker

14. Nikorima
15. Gillett
16. McGuire
17. Hala/Ofahengaue/Wallace

Could I ask where Nikorima would play off the bench...??? Surely not as a bench hooker???

Am I the only one that thinks slotting Barba into 5/8 is a mistake? Here he is in his first game with his new club against his former club and he is told to "go out and create". That is a fair bit of pressure to put on somebody new to the club, I don't care he who he is, he needs to work his way into the team by roaming at fullback (his best position) exploring the open spaces plus not having to deal with the big men running at him in defense whilst dealing with a chronic ankle. Bad idea if this is indeed what Hook has on his mind.

Hoffy in the halves is another howler, he lacks creativity as a FB, what impact is he going to have 5/8 other than negative? Leave the halves role to the specialists, give Niko or Strasser a shot and let the others play in the positions that they excel in.

I sense a chaotic season coming up, we fans are going to go through events we have never experienced as Bronco supporters before. Hang on for the ride. It is going to be fargin bumpy.

Agreed. The issue we face is Hook is skating on thin ice and the "safe" option is Babs at 6. It will be a mistake...

You're not telling me anything that I don't know, he was obviously a lot skinnier back then because if you have been paying any attention, you would also know that his pace is much too slow to be playing on the edges.

Yeah im in agreeance i reckon we will finish bottom 4 for sure.

No,Reedy was fast but he most certainly is not now. I believe he lost a lot of top speed when an injury and extra muscle mass were factored in. I would have Reed as a mobile back rower or not at all. If he does get through the line ( as a centre ) he is run down by heavy forwards. I like the guy and I believe he contributes and has that 'hate to lose' mentality. A good quality winger is a valuable asset and the position should not be viewed with scorn, rather it is a place to shine like Sailor and Tuquiri did. I hope someone is coaching wing play with the same vigour allocated for play making roles.

Yes, you've said it repeatedly. And on a side point, agreeance is NOT a word people!!

don't believe i have said it repeatedly at all, nor do i need you to correct words that i do or do not say pal.

To be honest I don't usually care about what you do or do not say either, just that agreeance is one of my pet hates. ;)

your posts are usually my pet hates tbh.

I only hope that we try to have a basic 20 minutes at the start of games. Completed sets, boring perhaps but necessary to tire some forwards. I'd just like to see some smooth, rhythmic early sets. The only thing I'd like to see more than 5 one outs and kick is 5 hit ups with multiple options to hit. Lots of bodies in motion as Melbourne do and others are copying. So much of our hard yards is easily defended as only one guys running. Options give your team chances and lessen the impact. I'd like Barba to play like Cliffy Lyons or Jason Smith, deeper with ample time to create or choose. The flat attack is great in the middle but limited when spreading the ball.
