Maybe Walters has taught Croft how to play Halfback properly. That's one thing we haven't factored in, lol.

I'm happy to give Croft the first crack, if it looks like he's drastically improved over the off-season, he can be our 7. If it's the same old shit, Walters better have the stones to drop him for Dearden a month in, or there'll be people calling for his head.

Could it really be as simple as uncoaching what Pies did?

Could be 100 not dropped reasons for that to be the case. Like giving both players an opportunity to build combinations in the event of injuries.

Maybe he'll let Croft take the early onslaught, and give Dearden a few things to work on in cup . Maybe even put him with walsh to get the combination going again.

Time in Q Cup won't be the worst thing for him. I still feel that he isn't quite up to the level required as of yet and am not totally convinced that he is the long term answer. Croft has the ability but we've yet to witness it in Bronco colours.

It's one of those selections that might be 'right' but if you can't get a prospect to the level required of him than you may not be the man for the job after all.

Or at least in the case of Bellamy, get rid of the either or entirely and come up with a better alternative.

fear ... they worry that if we don't play them in first grade immediately another club will swoop in with a big offer and steal them away.

the problem is that when you give into that fear and play them too early, you get last year (obviously coaching didn't help)
