My biggest concern for this game is the boys will try and throw it around from the get go instead of winning the middle and laying the platform first. We have been guilty of this in past seasons playing down to the lesser teams. Hopefully having Reyno there, will make sure that doesn't happen.

They play right side so they will be up against Farnworth and Oates but not sure which side Milford will play on. If it's the same side it will be Gamble.

You`ve got me confused now ?
Milf played on the left for the Broncos and Qld ? That`s where I started my reasoning .

But now I realise Best plays left side . So maybe Lee / Best / Milf vs Cobbo / Staggs / Reynolds ?

Probably be best for us if that's how they line up.

Looks like with Barnett and now Gagai back into the run on side, plus Milfs return to NRL footy, this will now prove a good test for Brisbane.

Knights will be well up for this game. We need resilience, discipline and patience to wear that and then get into our sets so Arey can do his stuff.

Still believe we havent shown all the variations we can do on our right edge when in the attacking 20.

Arey has kicked long on a compressed defence for Cobbo, kick-chase for himself when they dont compress. All we need next is short passes to Staggs when Arey shapes to kick over for Cobbo.

We had chances last week to do this, it was set up, but Arey didnt pull the trigger.

Wonder if this is the week he adds another nuance to our right side attack?

Alos, our line speed and scramble defence is designed to nullify the sweep play. Ill be keen to see how Ponga goes agaisnt it..

Reynolds , Staggs , Cobbo Vs .

That looks like their right side with Gags and Young.

From memory AOB likes to operate with very distinct splitting of his attacking spine players.

Ponga is most suited being on the left utilising Fitzgibbon and cut out balls to the winger, so from that image perhaps Milf will be sitting on the right edge and Clune will be running the middle/link man.

I was wanting Milf on the right a fair bit when he was here, so it will be interesting to see how it goes.... but I do think having him on the right is a benefit to us, because Gamble has been hitting Capewell on the short ball a lot (I think it is used as a setup play where we hit Capes and then spread back to the right for Cobbo or Staggs).

Capewell has been getting around his opposite half a fair bit from this ball as well, got a try around Hynes and should've had a try against Cherry last week. I would expect Milf being in front of him plays into our hands with what we have already been doing.

Hopefully it's not wet tonight because that will make the short ball harder to work with... Gags biting in on Capewell to protect Milf also opens up TMM and Herbie out the back

This ☝🏻
but I think calm is key for us as others in high positions have said too. Patient and compose push forward up the middle then let Renolds do his thing. (As usual)
Think of Lockyer what he’d do.
one thing he is, patient!!!!!!!! Tight up the left side and PLANT IT.
That’s my option.
Keep the ball and field position will be tricky in saying so. But no doubts from me haha!!
I’m so keen for tonight lol. Who can tell 🤪
Who is with me!!!? @Kimlo

Sorry mate I am not always spot on with im typing. Fat fingers *derp 🤣
I do know how to spell but some times it’s always easier to do short names I.e KW for Kevin Walters and so on. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for being welcoming towards me. not that I can say anything about a lot of people in here last week. Including some forum officials lol. Should think before discriminising for things others can’t change but moving forward I guess haha.
Im not here for that I’m here to talk GAME and make friends.
Cheers kimlo. One of the good ones!!!!
feeling stoked about the kind words.
PS on a side note I had a pot dolphins swam past me this morn. It’s a good sign for tonight haha.

WE GOT this tonight @Kimlo
👏🏼👏🏼

I'm getting big @FaithinHook vibes here.

I sometimes like browsing through the opposition's forums. Poor bastards think Milford is there saviour 🙃

It's because all they've seen of him are the highlights - which are sensational. Unless you walk in another team's shoes you don't really get the cascading frustration felt for serial underperformers like Milford. Plus some clubs/coaches/fans (particularly Bennett) imagine all these players need is a new coach. Occasionally that's true. Like Tom Dearden, maybe. But the norm is James Roberts, Brodie Croft, Macca and Matt Lodge.

Milford is perfectly capable of having the odd good game. Maybe that will be tonight. But I'm sure we have a plan to get under his skin. And I hear Tyson has even cut his hair in anticipation of the Main Event.

I think the best thing that can happen is we trample MIlf all night and hopefully that'll knock the delusion out of some of the posters that MIlf's back.

There are some that will still hold out hope, but you can't reason with crazy.

Taking bets on how long until Milf and Ponga switch positions. You know it's going to happen.

He did have some good games at the end of last season .
That clip of Newcastle Vs Brisbane late 2021 he was showing some glimpses of brilliance .

But backing what I said about Renolds kicking short side was Marty sheargol on triple M. So although hard to hear; it’s not just me. It’s professional radio hosts

Anyone who says that you shouldn't keep doing what's working is an absolute idiot.

If the opposition keep giving you the opening take it with both hands ...

when that opening closes you come up with a plan B.

He has massive hands and long arms- Ben and Shane Walker's rule is never throw a long ball if the other team has Indigenous outside backs and only Indigenous players can attempt intercepts! They think that they have some inbuilt ability to intercept. He took an intercept for the Falcons at the Coast in 2019 and the first 30m he had it on the end of his fingers outstretched- he seemed to take a long time to bring it in- he was in the centres so he'd just move at the last minute and grab it.

Same with his kicking, he can kick a ball with those massive levers.

Shades of GI
