With Mam reportedly out of form I just hope stepping up to NRL he switches gears. Qcup can become a grind for these kids & sometimes what they need is a little taste of NRL to remind them of what they’re working toward. Hopefully he has a blinder & goes back to qcup hungry.

That's the dream and there have been times where Mam has looked a level above but fed up with his team, so hopefully he won't have the same problem with this team. Let's see what he's got.

Is he really "out of form" or were the high expectations around him based on only a few games that hardly anyone actually watched? I liked what I saw of him in the trials. I reckon he'll be okay.
You can't blame Mam for the terrible results of south Logan. The poor kid can only preform he's class if the whole team does their jobs to higher standard needed for a successful side.

Although that’s the last thing you want to here today it is a real good gauge of where we are at. Still doesn’t effect our defence and to be fair prior to milf Knights can’t score for the life of them so we stick solid we get the win

Question. Would Mam be training all week with the Bronco’s (opposed sessions etc). And then just drop into the ISC team on the weekends?

Yes, he’s top 30.

Big blow but I'm interested to see how Mam and Gamble will go, I think they'll reverse the roles with Gamble steering the ship and Mam chipping in.

If our forwards keeping laying down the same platform they have all season then there will be no excuse from the halves.

Don't be glum, you'll be even more comfortable with this team after tonight. You can rightfully expect a dip when losing a top shelf captain, commander and chief but what's left will still perform to a high standard, winning without too much disruption. That's what we should expect if we are emulating the Storm approach.

I expect they'll play exactly as they would with Reynolds pulling the strings and Mam will be expected to produce a controlled and well timed imitation. Doesn't need to be perfect but capable, get most of it right. I think KW will tell him get the simple parts right first( no excuse for failing here) but after that have some fun and back himself to do what he does.

First though, we have to be methodical and controlled. I expect a good pro showing.

Maybe gives the guys some added motivation to win to show it's not all just Reynolds, too. Hopefully his calmness is starting to rub off on some of the others who can carry it through. We got this!!

This becomes interesting now, does Mam need a challenge or has he been really kicking cans in ISC. His form and body language has been terrible in ISC.

He is certainly not playing tonight on form. So I am hoping it's just a challenge that perks him up.

It's not bad from in the traditional sense, it's lack of involvement that I have seen the last nine weeks. Complete apathy.

Hasn't had a try assist for three weeks and 15 metres running last week and last week just his pass at all costs atttiude- he looked like he didn't want to run at all. Hospital passes to anyone near him.

What he does need to do in defence is not go up past the ball, he did it twice against Dolphins last week and Simbiken had two tries 20 minutes in. Enthusiasm to get up can't over-ride technique.

I've got faith in Gamble to lead the team around and Martin to step up and take on abit more responsibility in attack.
From what I've seen of Ezra he's one of those guys who know where to pop up to get a try so hope he sniffs round for some offloads.
you'd think Newcastles prep during the week would of been focused around Reynolds so that throws their plans out
Were a better side than round 1 and we did that without Reno.

I just took a deep breath and reminded my self that the knights only narrowly beat the bulls dogs

Question. Would Mam be training all week with the Bronco’s (opposed sessions etc). And then just drop into the ISC team on the weekends?

They train all week then go to Souths for one session on Friday night then play on the weekend. So they miss no Broncos training.

So Knights (Frizell) to target Mam now (like we were gonna target Milford)?

If Mam replaces Reynolds then they will be on opposite sides. Unless Mam plays 5/8 and Gamble is moved to halfback.

He’ll be up against Fitzgibbon.

We won week 1 against last year's grand finalists without Reynolds.
Reynolds hasn't been organising the defensive line from fullback.
Reynolds hasn't been tightening up defence in the middle of the field.
Reynolds wasn't responsible for teaching Cobbo how to catch a ball or how to not run over the sideline every play.
Reynolds wasn't the reason Kotoni stopped trying for home run miracle balls every time he attacked and stopped rushing out of the defensive line.
Reynolds isn't the reason for our line speed and commitment and attitude in defence.

Will be harder without him, but Reynolds has just been the icing on the cake the last few weeks and all the fundamentals the team has improved on as a whole are what will win or lose us the game tonight.
