POST GAME [Round 11, 2024] Broncos vs Sea Eagles

This is what is exciting with Madden at halfback if he continues to progress as he is. Once him, Mam and Walsh gel, you have speed in your spine. Add to that Mozer is quick too, our potential spine would be a nightmare for oppositions with the running game alone. Then with guys like Haas, Piakura, Riki, Xman, Cobbo and Mariner, you have speed just about everywhere. We can punch through the middle or side to side, either way we do it, we are going to be tiring teams out.

Said it before .
I`ll say it again . He does throw some nice passes . That move Piakura put on DCE last night was a thing of beauty . Started heading in then stepped out and left Daly askin where did he go ? But the pass from Jock was the icing on the cake .

Re watching the replay. Normally if I do that I think "my bias got in the way, the ref wasn't that bad"....

Not this time. That held penalty against staggs was worse then I originally thought and completely momentum shifting and unnecessary...

It`s the rules ...
The ref calls held and you take the guy over the sideline it`s a penalty .

Doesn`t matter if you think the tackle was complete or not . The ref called held . End of .

What is so hard to understand about that ?

His defence is a big concern. He's great at folding blokes, but this isn't the 90's anymore.

That was my biggest concern for him coming into this season. I posted footage of a few examples in the WC where he was absolutely embarrassed defensively. It's something he will need to work on and it's something we will need to fix if we make the finals.

Come finals time, every single playmaker will be watching that Round 3 game where Cleary had an absolute field day with him.

You mean the night he had to play out of position ?

I think the complaint there was not for dragging a bloke over the sideline after being called held. It was the fact the ref called held the second he was touched. That was the controversy.

The guy was on his feet, moving, tacklers kept him upright and on the move constantly. The call of held was the problem. At no point was momentum stopped, the player lifted off the ground or the arm carrying the ball on the ground.

Exactly this, the tackle WAS NOT complete and we had every right to throw him into the first row of the stands, except the nuffie ref decided on a whim that he wasn't going to allow it.

G`day Brooksey !
How`s it goin bro ?

That was a highlight for me .Staggs , Riki and Jock kept Luke Brooks pretty quiet . He has been a weapon on the left for them this season .

What about Mariner getting put on report because he hurt Koula in a completely legal tackle...
Tackling too hard.

There was a game a few years back where the ref literally said that a Broncos player 'tackled too hard' and conceded a penalty. Could have been the year that must not be named?
Does anybody remember what match this was?

Even the penalty for high tackle by Riki the set before this that gave them the field position. They only showed the replay once because it clearly showed no contact with the head at all
The amount of times the coverage never replays a dubious Broncos call. Or shows a sideline or something else when we are on the attack is annoying. In saying that I thought we got some calls and not some others. All evened out in the end.

The more they focus on irrelevant reasons why they lost the less focused they are on the sleeping giant that we are.

We are yet to produce anything close to an 80 minute display nor have our full strength team on the field.

Adversity is strengthening this side.

I can't remember the match but pretty sure it was Flegler, might have been binned too?

To be fair, if it was the tackle I'm thinking of, he damned near snapped him in half. You know, when you're a kid and you grab half a loaf of bread and compress it in to one slice? That's how his insides would have felt, I'm sure....

That might be the warriors game from a few years back?? 2020 or 2021 because it was at Redcliffe Stadium

Was Flegs first game back at the start of the year and the ref penalised him like 3 times in 5mins and then sent him to the bin.

Both sound pretty accurate from my memory!
