Why would we want him back? The team needs him now, his mates need him now. If we are better in 3 years why should we welcome him back, what does that say to the players that stayed and helped out the club?

This is the perfect example.

I hated the idea of Hodges coming back, absolutely hated it.
Then he became the heart and soul of the team post Lockyer. But he had to earn it, and earn it he did.

Thus, same treatment for Fifita I think; dropped to reserve grade even if he’s fit or not, and even if there is a reserve grade comp or not.

If he gets to the other side and the grass isn’t greener, he will come back and try extra hard to deliver. If he doesn’t, well he wasn’t supposed to be here anyway.

If we have any sense of self-worth, David should not play again this year. There is no point. This year is a complete right off, and we are depriving players of valuable first-grade experience that no matter how poor the results, will serve them well next year. I don't even care if we lose every game for the rest of the year. I want to see which players are putting in.
As a fan seeing Dave run around in the club's colours again will make me angry, not at him, but at the club.
Move forward, and don't play him. It worked for Hodges, and the whole time he was away he just wanted to come home.
As a fan I will gain no joy in seeing Fifita contributing to us winning games this year. If we play him, we are saying we value you (even though you've left us) more than we do our future. No way.
Like I said I'm not angry at Dave (who could turn that down) I'm annoyed at the club. I want them to show some backbone and confidence.

He's playing because Fat Tony said the Broncos can still reach the finals, at least mathematically. If it's possible he will field his strongest team. When we can no longer do so Fifita will have time off, he may even have knee 'soreness'. It's a possibility that DB will get a few weeks off too but he'll likely play the final game. He may even play all nine, who knows?

I’d be pretty excited if Boyd puts the winger over with the sweep play. Just for old times sake when we actually scored points.
