I've had that marked down as a loss since the draw was announced, so it was a huge effort to walk away with the two points. They were beaten in most stats categories but they just kept turning up.
The play that stood out to me was half-way through the second half. Sutton forgot he could call held and everyone was getting dragged back. Then Herbie from dummy half finds his front, Jensen drags them about 15m and it saved a horror set.
Thankfully Brisbane remembered that Sutton never calls strips. At least they took something out of the 2015 GF...
I thought the senior forwards really paved the way. Palasia, Walters, Jensen, Capewell, Riki and Kobe all had their best game of the season & Taupau was strong off the bench. Piakura and Willison are still green, but they had some nice involvements as well and I wouldn't give up on them yet either.
The last seven minutes didn't shock me at all. I'd like to see that short kick off again, Reynolds seemed confident there was a knock on but that's one limitation of the challenge and an occasion where it would be handy.
It didn't go their way and the Warriors were always going to be dangerous. I was in total shock when Montoya crossed for his second. I thought Mariner & Sailor had it covered then it seemed like somebody unplugged the controller and suddenly he was over. It was so weird that something had to have happened and while it's one of those bunker calls it was right and sadly Mariner 100% did the right thing. I think if he made an honest attempt there's a chance the bunker clears it. Mariner carrying on sold it.
Reynolds makes a huge difference and he just got better as the game wore on. When the game was there for the taking, he stood up.
