PRE-GAME Round 13 - Broncos vs Titans

Nope, I have us making the top 4 without Macca.

My fear is if we get lumped with Macca again, we'll shitgrind through to a two point win and he'll get another game on the back of it.

Being a fan doesn't mean sticking with a player who's a clear liability just because he's a good bloke.

Yep, it's a test for Seibold. Hopefully, he'll pass it.
Absolutely not, but lets be real....... people on facebook are pretty fair-weather.

The amount of people that have little to no idea that comment on the Broncos page or Broncos groups is ridculous.

Macca needs to come back on the bench and up his game. Imo, after the service he has given us, he deserves a chance to prove himself. What we have now though are genuine alternatives, so if he cant take that chance i dont see a future for him as a Bronco.

He’s had plenty of chances though. Everyone’s worried he won’t get dropped even if he stinks it up because he’s such a professional at training

He hasnt really been put in this kind of position as he hasnt had much competition. I'm happy to give him the opportunity, but thats all it should be, an opportunity. If he cant perform, he shouldnt play.

Only performing when there's competition is a shit "footy is just a game" attitude that should have sailed when Wayne did.

There's almost no chance of him not coming into the side, so I hope we at least stick with a bench hooker. See if they can overtake him in time from the bench.

Also weren't there rumours about how he's unwanted for next year?

Well, it is just a game!

I cant think of many players who keep performing at their very best without having somebody to push them to keep their place, and the ones i can think of are real, top level, elite players. I dont think Macca is complacent, but i feel he may have just got a bit too comfortable in his positon. Seggy and Turpin have changed all that now.

nope, for these guys it's supposed to be their career, their livelihood, their life.

Interesting that on the Broncos Facebook feed the comments under this announcement are 90% or more saying that they don’t want Macca back. Doesn’t look like too many people missed him. I know I didn’t.
The only interesting thing on their FB page is the number of fans whose profile pic have them sporting their 7XL jerseys and the multiple different spellings of McCullough. Only read as comedic value.

I agree about the first two, i dont think it has to be their life, but it doesnt also mean they dont take their career seriously. Macca is a great professional, he does everything right and always give 100%, he is just not performing to the best of his ability.

I don’t know about anyone else, but whenever I play sport, I play to win. That’s the kind of hyper-competitiveness that drives a bloke like Bellamy. You may not win, but you won’t die not trying either

What does whether they are skinny or fat have to do with anything?

I've been one of Macca's biggest critics but I don't think I've ever accused him of needing to raise his game. He's the one player in the team who's given his all week in, week out. He's been exemplary in that regard. I think he's playing to the limit of his ability. It's sad for him, because he is the kind of effort player every coach wants.

But his best just isn't match winning.

As for Turpin, I wouldn't regard him as an impact player either. He's a bread and butter starting hooker. He might have some impact being brought in after Macca's trudged around the first 60 minutes doing his usual, but he's no Kodi Nikorima who's going to slice through tired defence. That's more Segy.

Sorry Macca, but I can't find a place in the team for you.

I think Seibold has proven he can make tough decisions. Whether it's superstars who won't train, or training champions who don't work on the field. We're in a great situation. The only way McCullough stays is if he's killing it, which would be great for the club, right? No genuine fan would want the club to fail just to prove an agenda.

Yep, I wouldn't want to play a half arsed game for Bellamy.

The agenda is to win, and by increasingly larger margins. I don't see us doing that with Macca's style of play. This should be our easiest game of the season. We need to rack up a big score this weekend.
