*BITTER KILLJOY ALERT*
Apart from the obvious game against the Cowboys, last year was one where slim, gut-wrenching losses were few and far between. This year, our first four losses were by one, two, one and one before this week's 18-point thrashing. Losing so many tough games which we could have won by small margins having given everything takes something out of a team. In this team, I see tiredness and frustration in abundance, which was clearly on show tonight.
As much as we still have games in the bag, this year is quickly slipping away. We still have two games against Melbourne and two against Canterbury as well as Souths and Dragons away. Having lost five games already, losing even half of those matches is going to make the top four a real challenge. Yes, making the top four is meant to be a challenge, but I don't see enough energy, guts or determination in the side to go the distance this year. I have to say that unless Milford and Hunt return with renewed vigour and Wayne can magically turn this team into something like the force of 2015, I don't see us challenging for the premiership.
