POST GAME Round 13 - Warriors vs Broncos

Sam so far has escaped criticism but he was shite. Backing up from origin was too much to ask of him.

Lets be honest, Sam has been fairly shit for a few years.

IMO: Sam was lucky to be picked in the Origin team.

Pangai JR is to be absolute quality if he isn't already. Happy to piss Thaiday (he's been pretty poor this season, and I don't think he's going to get better at his age) and Glenn (Pangai and Su'A will be on a different level in 1-2 years time) off. Ese'Ese is bloody good as well. Offa is still a good prospect, but he's been weak the past month.

EDIT: The past two losses + his performance in Origin exemplifies just how good Gillet is.

I feel like Offa is too... light? He's built like a second rower, but plays front row. He needs to be 5-10kg heavier before he'll make the required impact. For now I think Pangai and Ese'ese are the better options.

I was only able to watch the first half but the Warriors were all over us from what i saw and some of our blokes are fatigued from Origin. Referring really sucked those passes weren't forward.

we need to move quick on guys like su'a and ese'ese before some other club does.
ill prob cop a bit for this comment but i think we should consider moving blair on sooner rather than later. yes he does a bit of clean up work but he is getting long in the tooth and really doesnt offer a hell of a lot through the middle.

We can piss them both off.

Move Roberts to left center to run of Milf
Play Kahu at right center
Give Opacic/Seve/Anderson a shot on the wing.

So backline of:

1. Boyd
2. Oates
3. Roberts
4. Kahu
5. Opacic/Seve/Anderson
6. Milford
7. Hunt

From what i gather, Opacic is being considered more for a center position by Wayne rather than on the wing.

We do need a bit of freshening up though.

Can't understand all the Roberts hate when he doesn't get the ****ing ball !!!

Maranta and Reed on the other hand ....

Thanks Jarro, someone who makes some sense at last! Jimmee is starting to look like he doesnt feel part of the team, an i think it is because they are not engaging James. It is all about Reed for some reason. If he was any good i could understand but his shit! I admit Jimmees defense today was bad, but, god he must be wondering why Reed always getsthball an not him!

*BITTER KILLJOY ALERT*

Apart from the obvious game against the Cowboys, last year was one where slim, gut-wrenching losses were few and far between. This year, our first four losses were by one, two, one and one before this week's 18-point thrashing. Losing so many tough games which we could have won by small margins having given everything takes something out of a team. In this team, I see tiredness and frustration in abundance, which was clearly on show tonight.

As much as we still have games in the bag, this year is quickly slipping away. We still have two games against Melbourne and two against Canterbury as well as Souths and Dragons away. Having lost five games already, losing even half of those matches is going to make the top four a real challenge. Yes, making the top four is meant to be a challenge, but I don't see enough energy, guts or determination in the side to go the distance this year. I have to say that unless Milford and Hunt return with renewed vigour and Wayne can magically turn this team into something like the force of 2015, I don't see us challenging for the premiership.

I wouldn't be phased if we moved on Glenn, Sammy and Blair tbh and bring in a big prop or two with impact. We just dont have one and at times i think it shows, our forwards just cant match it with some of these sides with really big bodies. Chris Hill would be one. Capable of playing big minutes, good defensively, got some size about him (190cm and about 115 kgs ) and imo the best English prop in the game. We have some great back row prospects so i think we can afford to lose maybe Sam, Blair and Glenn. Sammy though will be difficult to move on i would think.

As long as the Cowboys don't go back to back right?

What do people think about possibly signing Segyaro,, playing him Hooker, Kodi to 7 an Hunt can find {hopefully} some form in the intrust cup ? Something obviously needs to change other wise 2017 is gone if it isnt already.

i reckon questions really need to be asked around our guys in charge of recruitment. without wayne coming back we would not have boyd, roberts, pangai or ese'ese (all bennett signings)
we spend a mountain of cash signing a heap of juniors each year but nothing is really there on the radar and this has been the case for a few years now. moose was the last prop we developed and he played 20's a fair while ago now. we also had to buy milford in even though he grew up in logan.
apart from oates and to a lessor extent kodi we havent really graduated much quality, especially with the numbers we sign and cash we spend at a junior level.
should we be starting to turn up the heat on our so called recruitment gurus????
taylor and j nikorima are some what exceptions but thats about it.
where are our outside backs???

Whilst I'm disappointed by loss and the performance I think it is important to remember that quite a few things leading up to todays game were stacked against us.

Firstly the game was in New Zealand against one of our bogey sides who can run red hot or cold today they were quite hot, we were also against a team who were well rested has had two weeks to prepare and the last round off.

They had no representatives in Wednesdays game, we had four backing up and two missing as well as an injury to our hooker who we probably now know is more important to our game then we realise.

Its hard enough to win in NZ with everything going your way let alone with the interrupted preparation we had this week.

I just seen on the cows v knights live game that Matt Scott had run over 100 metre in the first half! None of our guys apparently run 100 metre in the whole match ! Poor effort by our forwards. Also, Granville running amuck for the cows , why oh why did we loose him too?

To be fair he is playing against the knights.

True Danoz it is only the knights heh. Gee the cows look good though, so professional an all plays just seem to click. Broncos looking exactly the opposite an i feel cows have gone ahead since last year but we have gone backward for some reason, why? We are a team of individual champs ,but, cows are a champion team.

Absolutely retarded, is what I think.

Thaiday directly contributed to the first 2 tries being a lazy prick and not sliding out after the ball passes him.

Maranta directly contributed to 3 tries with piss poor defence and put us under even more pressure at multiple stages of the game.

Roberts contributed to letting in 2 tries himself.

2 tries taken from us in the first half.

I'm fkn sick of people trying to blame hunt, two try assists..... **** me, there is only so much this kid can do when people around him are throwing their brains out the fkn window and our forwards arent laying the platform.

Point the fingers at the people who deserve it.
