Round 14 - Raiders vs Broncos

Not sure if it showed on the TV but the ref started the game by making us stand at least 12 meters for the ten. Some of the first 4 six agains which all went Canberra’s way even the Canberra supporters were asking what they were for.

Oh yeah at various times he was even getting us back a good 14m, the Raiders was also getting away with plenty in the ruck and the 10m.

No doubt tho we are pure crap, particularly our handling, we just make too many errors and invite the referee to make more shit decisions against us.

You idiots blaming this loss on Turps, get off it. He's the only guy holding our middle together and he's one of the smallest guys on the field. I agree he's not an 80 min hooker, and with most teams running duals we should have Paix there. But Paix was ordinary when he was used so all we had was Jake, and he hadn't been completely burnt out yet.

Jake could and can do more in attack, but I still think half of the players don't know what's happening on which tackle. Now whether that's a halves issue, a coaching issue or Jake not being as in control as he maybe should be I don't know, but the last thing anyone should be criticizing is his defence.
He’s a plodder who can’t pass

We should pull a stunt using the Captains Challenge.

After a hitup where we can plainly see the opposition are allowed to stand offside we should simply stop and everyone stand still while we wait for our captain to walk over to the referee and tell him we are challenging his ruling. He would be nonplussed of course.

I can imagine the conversation.
Ref. What ruling?
Cap. The offside ruling.
Ref. But I didn't call 'offside'
Cap. Yeah, that's right, you didn't and that's what we're challenging.

Yes, yes I know this particular battle is one we wouldn't win but it brings attention to the ref on the day and his offside calls. You can imagine the replays and the fodder it would provide for the commentary team. There'd be much discussion, attention drawn to not just the play of the moment but a focus on the ref would doubtless ensue. It might even have a knock on effect. I am totally convinced the defence would not be offside for the rest of the match, not once. Well, there'd be a penalty if they were.

I think it'd be a great way to bring attention to what has been going on for years. Ref's totally ignoring teams being offside whenever they play the Broncos. Sure, we'd lose the skirmish but we might win the war because we forced the spotlight on to the ref(s)

Hunt - not to many options, could easily be better than gamble after a few games.
Fullback - Farnworth is a winger anyone that has actually watched him can tell you that, Niu is a fullback, not hard to figure that one out.
Look at it logically though, Herbie trained at fullback all week only to be replaced by a player who wasn't even in the plans to play this game, you can do that with non spine positions because their role is more simple, but fullback is an important position, combine that with a haphazard halves pairing, it just hurts the brain.

I know you're taking the piss, but something like that would require brains and leadership, which we don't have. Oh wait we have Special K and Sexy Lexy for leadership...

This was the most I've blown up at a game since we've been the nrl laughing stock.

Just constant dropped balls, silly penaltys, poor defence reads, soft first contact and bad 5th tackle options. Its literally just one thing after another. Our whole game is riddled with rookie error's.

Last night i was ready to sack Kev but ive gotta ask other people's opinions because the thought is in my head. Are we just not good enough? Plain and simple is our 17 man squad every week just not good enough?

I mean is it possible they're trying there guts out and know what needs to be done but tallent wise they are just outplayed hence all the errors and penaltys and 6 agains?

I guess what im asking is, with a different coach at the helm each week but identical squad, are our results any different?

our completion rate and poor discipline last night cost us at least 12 points if not more. Kev is responsible for our discipline which has not seemed to have improved all year, but completion rate- dropped balls and poor passes are for the most part all down to the players. Last night we just looked disoriented and disintereste.

100%.
A lot of people, myself included found Seibold a cnvenient target for blame, but there has been very little change in results under kev and i think the rot runs deep at the broncos.
I honestly feel like the one and only individual that puts in 100% effort week in, week out, is Payne Haas.
Not a single other person at the club deserves to be there.

Put our 1-7 from last night up against almost every other side. There's your answer.

1 Tesi
2 Cobbo
3 Copley
4 Arthurs
5 Herbie
6 Karmichael
7 Gamble

That has to be objectively the worst 1-7 in the history of the Broncos. Well done Peter, well done Board members.

One positive.

With Coates leaving (no that’s not it 🤣), we really don’t need to bring him back in at all. Cobbo is super raw, but you can see he has all the ingredients to be something special. He’s already better at bringing the ball back than Coates and manages to stay on his wing most of the time (still needs work, but he’s only 2 games in).

Runs hard, really hard actually. Kid is tough as nails and has that special something about him. Looks very promising so far.

However, we should probably bring Coates back so we can FUBAR him before we hand him over to the Storm and let Cobbo develop some skills, and a winning feeling, playing QCup for the rest of 21.

Hunt - not to many options, could easily be better than gamble after a few games.
Fullback - Farnworth is a winger anyone that has actually watched him can tell you that, Niu is a fullback, not hard to figure that one out.
If anyone can see that then why did Kev train with him at fullback all week and name him there? Must be a shit coach if anyone who watches Farnworth could tell that.

send off was bad but we were a joke before that.

christ we are bad. i revise my 10-12 prediction because we're going to be lucky to not get the spoon two years running.

i know it seems weird to pin it on one player, but **** me we need to get rid of glenn asap. he was responsible for at least two tries last night, and then straight after the final whistle has gone, you see him laughing and joking with a canberra player? that's the sort of player you want leading the squad?

worst captain in broncos history.

Mmmm, amI ? Okay, yes it would be a bit of a piss take but I absolutely would go ahead with it provided I had convinced the club that it would be worth it. I'd tell them to 'hang me out to dry publicly' but privately cover the inevitable fine. I think copping a ten k fine would be a fair price to pay for dragging our disgraceful treatment into the light of the day. From our shocking judiciary record, our dreadful treatment with regard to penalties awarded to how we are treated onfield we have justcause for complaint.

I have , Herbie trained there all week, Niu has been training all offseason and all season and playing there recently in cup .
Not saying it was the right option because that we'll never know, but I can see the logic. Maybe he thought it was for Herbie's protection.

Breaking News!!!!

Rugby League has died, aged 126 .
There is an investigation being conducted to whether it was murder.

Though some believe it was a disease known as V'landys that killed Rugby League.

However most fingers are pointing at the Mafia organisation also known as NRL Referees.

The rotten corpse of Rugby League will still played with for some time.

More to come........

I wish the game was dead given the way it's heading, it would be less painful just to put it out of it's misery now.
