POST GAME [Round 15, 2024] Broncos vs Rabbitohs

…. so Kevvie said the “effort” was there and he isn’t overly concerned. It’s going to be a long second half of the season isn’t it.
I agree, the effort was there. Our forwards in particular were on and outmuscled souths. It was purely our handling errors that cost us and to a lesser extent, our halves.

It's fair, a player without the ball shouldn't have to worry about their head.
The NRL have created another issue they'll have to deal with now.

Riki hit Murray on suspicion... then Souths went with "start a fight to get a penalty" off the back of Walsh getting his head torpedoed.

Riki definitely hit him too hard and didn't do enough to just bump him and get back to position... he deserved going to the bin... but that will become the norm now (i.e. start a fight on any hit with suspicion) until the NRL take it too far and do something stupid that the media will get up in arms about... and then the crackdown will be over.

Remember a few weeks back now when Walsh was hit off the ball after the whistle by Milford... and he wasn't penalised or sent to the bin... that should've been a sin bin at the time, but here we are now

I'm not saying it had anything to do with the loss but I knew we were in for a rough night in the 1st 10 mins with the sailor "knock on" and the 6 agains, combined with Adam "Bankstown born and bred" gee.
Vlandys and Co have absolutely destroyed the game with that crap. I think we benefited last year from it, it made us look great, now suddenly we have become 6 again uncompliant for some unknown reason we are seeing the other side of it. Absolutely no accountability on the refs with it, they can just call it one time and not call it 300 times in a game and not one mention of it in the commentary or the media. The timing of them isn't even mentioned in the media, teams could have 5 six agains each but one team got them all on the 5th tackle and the other team got 3 of them in the same set on the 1st tackle when they were down by 30 points lol. It's insane how poorly thought out it was by the arlc.

All this talk of we fucked up releasing Capewell is clearly from people that have not watched him this year. He has spent a majority of it injured and when he has played he has been ok at best. Not sure how that would be helping us.

In reality if we kept him the same people would be saying THAT was a failure of R+R to keep a guy too long.
I guess the same can be said about flegler.

It's the perfect rule for 'managing' games and achieving desired outcomes, officials can punish or assist a team at will and as play moves on so quickly there is no analysis or review of set restart decisions by the media or commentators or even the NRL, it all just gets forgotten once the game is over.

The officials have no accountability and neither do the NRL.

Putting aside the fact I agree it’s a terrible rule change

6 agains just favour the team on top and with momentum

ATM we are always on the back foot so we cop more then our fair share of these

Doesn’t help every time we get our own or gain some momentum one of our ‘stars’ immediately drops the ball like it’s under 6s

We need a better 8 - both Jenkins and Baker are absolute rubbish hence why their old clubs didn’t care they got released.

First time ever I have switched off a broncos game and gone to bed. I lasted until Souths scored after half-time and pulled the pin.

You mean you sat through all the games in 2020 and 2021 😮😮

TBH...he was OK at best most of his time here, IMO

Grass is always greener they say...........

Six agains have been the worst rule change since...... FOREVER.

They are ruining the game.

Me too. I think if we came out after half time, scored first and hung onto the ball run over the top of them. After we turned over possession for about the third time, and the bunnies went in again I switched it off.

Completely agree, not as severe as Joeys hit but it’s shoulder to the head. Definitely needs to be rubbed out for a few weeks. Dumb move by a dumb football side.
