From what I've seen from Baker I'm mystified how he is even in top grade, but surely he must have shown something at some point in his career, you can't be totally shit and then luck yourself into an NRL contract?

He has good moments , then fcks it up next .
Has an offload . Put a hit from the kick off on the tall Sharks bench prop that had him holding his ribs , then misses tackles .
Concentration and attention to details aren`t his strength lately . He`s not Robinson Crusoe there but .

Why would any player come to broncos, given the way you blokes criticize players?
So you don’t think supporters have the right to offer fair criticism of player performance?

That’s what’s happening here, consistent high error count, stats show were poor in most, if not all the key stats.

I think Broncos supporters have suffered enough to be be allowed to call out poor play and individuals.

Or do you think we should all pretend everything is sweet?

Sigh....after a few days that game still looks as bad as it did on the night. I just couldn't handle the amount of drop ball. That can't happen again. This team clearly needs some leadership (and that's not a crack at Patty). We need some quality experience in the line up. Our losses to the squad from last year far outweigh what we brought in. Rather than brining in journeymen one solid experienced player might have been the key to carrying on last years form. Staggs and Karapani at least looked like they put in and I enjoyed most of what they did. Our starting forwards were okay too.

I just have to ask though, did I really see Riki overtake Sailor to take down Latrell?!? I mean....I'm just gobsmacked at that

Anyway good luck to Kev and the crew you've got a hell of a task ahead. Take this team away on the bye and find your broncos spirit again please.

I think a lot of people forget that quite a few teams struggle when you don't have your marquee fullback and halfback in the side especially in attack when they are your main two threats. If we were dishing this shit up full strength then yeah we would have major red alert problems.
Depth is certainly an issue this year and injuries aren't really kind to us like they were last year.

I think it’s the way we’re playing that is frustrating the most. Our expectations are extremely high after last year and we just aren’t at that level this year unfortunately

We look like we aren't playing like a team. Last year they bought in, this year they look like the fame has gone to their heads or something.

Maybe it's just that all the hard work they did last year didn't pay off, and this year it's slightly harder because of all the injuries/lost players and they just can't get to the next level necessary because the coaches haven't adjusted.

Yep. Feels that way. It’s been a tough year with not much going right but we haven’t helped ourselves either.

I don't disagree that we have the right to criticise the team and players, but claiming that Broncos fans have suffered is a little bit like claiming middle-aged white males have suffered...

I know plenty who have. Yes it's over different things, and it's not systemic, but comments like this reinforce the garbage notion that middle-aged white males are the only demographic that cannot suffer.

That's kind of the point. Of course anyone can suffer, but I'm not sure any middle-aged white males have suffered due to their middle-aged white maleness.

What a garbage comment. It's crazy that your mind jumps to this kind of thing when trying to come up with an analogy.

It's true, I'm worse than Hitler punching down on white dudes like that.

Lefties have an obsession with identity politics! Even poor performing sporting teams can be linked to racial injustice according to a lefty!

I don't see how you can blame coaching when the players drop the ball so much. Clearly, Kevvie has mentioned this ad nauseum in press conferences but the players are still making the same errors, it isn't him doing it. We look ok when we hold the ball...we just don't hold the ball. That is on the players, not the coaches.

So you’re saying his game plan isn’t for them to drop the ball repeatedly?

Not repeatedly. Otherwise they just go back to the first knock-on anyway. They are supposed to wait a few minutes before dropping it, preferably early in the tackle count with no pressure on them. That way they are forced to defend constantly and get fatigued super fast, so idiots (fans and the media alike) can make comments on how unfit we seem and why our forward pack is losing the battle. The ultimate goal of course is to make Madden kick from his 30 metre line, have zero field position or momentum to work off, and generally look like a complete failure so that we can re-sign him for super cheap. Haha and everyone is falling for it! What dumbs.

Were you around since 2015? Getting flogged by 30+ points in 3 finals series, CHOKING 2 grand finals. A spoon. Missing the 8 multiple times.

Also middle-aged white men are over represented in suicide statistics, which I think can be related to suffering.
