Round 15 - Broncos vs Dragons - Post Match Discussion

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all of the Dragons tries came straight after dud calls? Or at least 2 of the 3 did.

Yep.

The first off the Yow Yeh knock on.
Third off the Reed knock on.

Really fun game to watch. This game was a pretty good case for lowering the interchange numbers. There were a lot of tired players out there and it made for very exciting footy. Loved McCullough's game, was immense. Thaiday, Glenn, Anderson & Hannant all gave us great go forward. If Reed makes way for Hodges in the starting lineup it will be a sin, this kid has something. Should be rookie of the year.

Delighted with that win.

Obviously there's still plenty of things we can improve on, but we looked very threatening in possession against what is arguably the best defensive team in the competition.

Lockyer is just class. You can't put into words how brilliant he is. That 40/20 was near impossible to kick, yet he nailed it. Then the subtle drop of the shoulder before potting that field goal - lovely stuff. Had one of his best games in a while tonight IMO.

All of our forwards were fantastic tonight - Hannant and Anderson being the two stand outs. They got through a mountain of defensive work.

People have been comparing Jack Reed to Mick De Vere, but it's starting to look like he could turn out to be a better player! That would be awesome. The kid continues to amaze. His defence is comparable to a brick wall, whilst he has an uncanny knack of breaking the line - and tonight he showed us his ability to offload! I for one hope we don't shift him into the backrow, leave him in the centres.

It'll be Copley. Has to be.

Hopefully that game showed Hook that when Hodges does get back, Reed cannot be dropped to the bench. He was outstanding. MOTM for mine. Looks so dangerous when he gets the ball close to the line and always looking to get his arms free for an offload. I don't care who is on the wing out of Copley and Beale, but there is no doubt in the world that Reed and Hodges are the two best centres at the Broncos at the moment.

Lockyer was outstanding as well. That 40/20 was spectacular, considering wingers and fullback were all back waiting for the kick. Hannant, Thaiday and Yow Yeh were all good on the back-up as well.

Agree with Coxy all of our front rowers were superb.

Wallace is making good decisions with his kicks at the moment. Looks like he is kicking for field position rather than trying the big play which is good to see.

Very satisfying win that one despite the players the Dragons had missing. They got a head-start too thanks to the "knock-on" from Yow Yeh (albeit that one was squared up with Yow Yeh's second try from what I could see at the ground).

Anderson still s**ts me with that one silly offload in the attacking opposition.

Does it everytime, it's nearly as bad as Macca's knock down.

Also shouldn't we be celebrating? I don't think Macca had that happen to him tonight!

Macca, you beauty... No one knocked the ball off your hands! icon_thumbs_u

Not much to add to what has been said already and it just tastes so good to stick it to the dragqueens.

Didn't really understand the Gagai option on the bench, especially after Yow Yeh looked a bit underdone in the second half.

Too bad players were missing from both sides, but given who we had on the sidelines, this game fills me with hope and confidence for the rest of the year!

Reed, Locky and Hannant all deserved the MOM, Glenn was also very good, and the whole forward pack deserves a wrap. Man mountain Hala scoring that try on pure power and determination was great to see.

With the bye after Origin 3, we're frankly looking in good shape for a top 4 finish.

The fucking old maestro takes the cake again

Watch that FG on replay again, good he played that well.

2 generations before we see a Broncos player as good; maybe never.

I have a few words.

Reed is awesome.
Why can't lockyer play again next year
And Hodges is amazing.

BTW anyone catch Fitler interviewing Locky after the game saying what about Glenn he's man of the match and he's like "oops I shouldn't of said that" [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1. [icon_lol1.

Bloody loved that game!

We looked pretty great tonight, our defense looked shaky every time the Dragons kept spreading the ball wide, we need to look into that but up the middle, we were very solid, they couldn't bust through.

Lockyer is the greatest, Reed is amazing, everyone played well, Yow Yeh made up for that brain explosion, giving the Dragons their 1st try....what was with running up on Hornby like that and leaving an over lap??

Loved it though, this should boost our confidence up big time!

well the better side one but my god both sides copped some atrocious decisions, the refereeing standard is getting worse all the time. Our pack was very good no one has really mentioned him but Thaiday was magnificent last night made an error early but in attack and defense was a constant menace after that, big improvement after SOO. Macca was also much better, quicker service helped by quick play the balls from Hannant and Anderson helped. He also ran at the right times at lazy markers. Biggest concern was our inability to contain the offload, they marched down field a few times very easily on the back of us not wrapping it up and killing the play.

Yes, but after about 15 minutes, we moved up in defence, tightened it up and dominated the middle. That was a real positive from this game.

Reed will be a champion player

So the Dragons fans are actually saying they got the bad end of the refs stick>> FFS Hate the Dragons.

No surprise there

I don't have a lot to add to what has been said, but I do want to say that I thought both Wallace and Macca were pretty good last night. I've always been pretty quick to criticise them, so credit when it's due.
