PRE-GAME Round 15 - Storm vs Broncos

Well if Slater is out as well, would anyone still take a win seriously?

If you talking about melbourne not being at full strength and it not being a true test. Yes its a shame but you can only play whats in front of you.

But its still a very important 2 points for us. Beating any top 8 team at this point in the season just solidifies a top 4 finish for us. So in that respect its very serious.

as someone said you can only play whats in front of you, but yes. if we beat melbourne, then the knights at home, we go into our second bye in a great position on teh table. the more points we can put on the board now will only help us at the end of the season

We play them in Round 26 and most likely again in the finals, consider this a warm up lol.

Edit: Slater out for the season, I'll take a win but it ain't the test it should've been.

Would've loved to get one over these pricks at full strength for once.

Slater out for the rest of the season. Goes under the knife on Tuesday.

That's actually good for QLD ... because as long as he says he is able to play, he'll get picked ... but in his current condition that is a hinderence to us, not a help.

We'll never have a better chance to beat Melbourne at AAMI Park.

Storm are in the top 4 without a lot of help from Slater. They are not to be underestimated - very well coached, disciplined, organized, consistent and always hard to beat. A win against them, Slater or no Slater is a very good win, and tests a side's strengths and weaknesses to the max.

I hate games like this.

Everybody is ragging on Melbourne, pointing out the fact that they're without Slater, Cronk and Koroibete so they're a bunch of no-hopers and Brisbane should win easy.

So let's say if the Broncos don't, what does it make them?

I've seen it so many times especially against hoodoo sides like the Dragons. Fans get confident, place all this pressure and the team goes down in a tight defence oriented scrap.

It's still a big game, especially in the context of the season and a win here could very well book the Broncos spot in the Top 4.

Plus, I really need a win because I'm still hurting big time over Wednesday.

There no denying storm without Cronk and slater just became much more winnable but with that the thought of losing becomes much more unbearable.

Well, I'm not ragging on the Storm. The thing about this game is they are a damn good side no matter what.

A win will further establish our credentials, and a loss will show Bennett further exactly where our strengths and weaknesses lie and where he has to focus for the business end of this season.

As for cementing a spot in the top 4, for mine we have already done that. This Broncos outfit is a class side and is still evolving thanks to good coaching, especially discipline and attitude which, incidentally, is precisely what a game v Storm will test to the max.

This game is a real learning curve and win or lose, it will bring nothing but positives.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing if we can out-discipline the Storm.

Should be a great game regardless of who is in/out .... lots of history between the two sides.

Absolutely! For me, it's our discipline which is the key factor behind our premiership chances. The talent is there, just needs to be harnessed and applied. The more I think about it, the more I like our chances, and this game will go a long way to establishing our real credentials as a real premiership threat.

I also happen to think we have the best halves combination in the competition, a combination which is getting better with each game. Maybe controversially, the only other halves pairing which is up there is Marshall and Widdop. In any case, the Storm game will be a great measure of just how well Hunt and Milford combine to get our killer edges and backs working, as well as their individual performances.

This will be one great game.

Bromwich can defeat an opposition forward pack on his own. There's no way we can take this game lightly.

Confident about this one the same way I was confident regarding Manly, Brisbane 13+

One of the weakest Storm lineups in a long time, there is no reason we cannot go down and give it to them.

Spot on BP

Melbourne, as much as I hate them, are a class outfit

Minus Cronk and Slater of course they become more beatable, but that's a long way from easybeats

Always a tough game and Brisbane will need to play very very well indeed to get the 2 points

it would seem that mcguire and parker are out of sunday as they've both come back to brisbane. would be weird to fly back here for one day only to go back down again..
