Round 16 - Rabbitohs vs Broncos - Post Match Discussion

Never saw a game like that before, that was dreadful!

Seems like souffs are more adept at water polo than we are, which is no wonder since they have a water sports specialist amongst them in Inglis...

I'm just going to write this one off to the lottery, because as that Sandow kick stayed put for Wesser to score, his in goal clearance just rolled over the line before Hoffman could get to it. And ffs Beale, I'm not sure you knocked on, but you should've dived on that ball and no one could've stopped you from gliding it into try.

Anyway, in all honesty the Broncos didn't deserve the win, but Sandow definitely deserved for someone to rearrange his ugly face after that disgraceful tackle on Hoffman. Could've ended his season!

Can't wait for round 25, so we hopefully put the usual 50 on the laugh of the league...

I don't we showed up prepared for the conditions. We could have folded being down 14-0 zip but we didn't so IMO it was a good effort from the boys. Just couldn't get the try we needed in woeful conditions. Just thankful nobody got injured

Any thoughts on the DT tackle on Anderson ?

Looked pretty bad on the night but wasn't put on report by the refs.

I think the review committee might have a close look at it though [eusa_doh

I dont know about the rest of you, well.. from what i read most of you hated it, but i thought that game was one of the best ive seen in years! Yes the field was in terrible condition, but it made the contest so gritty and close. The defense was massive from both sides, and there were some absolutely massive hits from the likes of taylor and inglis. Some of the best defense ive seen, especially Luke's bellringer on baptiste as he looked certain to score. Great game, bad result, but brilliant game nonetheless

I found it terribly boring and the conditions had me shaking my head but different strokes for different folkes I guess.

+1.
The most boring Broncos game this year.

I really don't count that match as anything towards our progress, it's a 1/1000 type match. I wouldn't look into that loss too much, we can bounce back easily.

Agree. I thought both teams were excellent considering the conditions and it was an exciting game all the way through. Souths' completions were amazing and the only thing that let us down was a bit of polish on the last play - too often unfortunately.

Can't read too much into the performance given how wet it was. We won't play in such poor conditions for quite a long time so if we'd won the only thing we would have taken from the game was the two points.

IMO the main concern would have to be how we perform next week at Parramatta. With such a heavy field, a 4-5 hour plane trip back home and our Origin players out of action I think we may struggle at the back end of next week's game. Griffen is really going to have to carefully manage the workload in the lead up to Friday night.

I wonder why Norman wasn't used at all. Our whole bench was very ineffective.

I still say Copely will be a star, he has it in him just needs to get past the confidence issue.

Fixed.

Nope he will be a star at NRL level, just needs time and thankfully Griffin obviously can see it as well.

I reckon it's because Hook didn't want a little fella who can't defend that well in the line on a night like that so he put Glenn there. It wasn't that bad of an idea IMO.
