Round 16 - Warriors vs. Broncos - Post Match Discussion

Great effort, everyone really put in. Even Wallace's kicking game was a standout.

Might be a bit harsh but I'm going to call out Hoffman for giving up the chase on Hurrell so early. I know he was runnin the ball in the lead up but if Sam can keep chasing a fat duck like Hurrell I can't excuse Hoffman for not doing so either.
 
Devastating loss. If we won today, we'd be 7 & 8 with the potential to maybe jag a win against Storm or potentially Cronulla but that loss just took whatever wind we had right under our sails.

I can see why Prince went for the cut-out - the Warriors defenders were jamming in on Hodges but boy it's the one time where the conservative option would have paid off.

Can't fault the effort today, boys did everything they could and in the end probably tried too hard. This just isn't our year and we're going to have to bite the bullet.
 
It's not our year, so we can at least try something different for next week? Just promote Baptiste or Granville instead of Hunt, and maybe even dump Norman. No point in just wasting time playing these blokes since we are definitely not in contention for the premiership.
 
Minimal changes for next week given the boys won't be returning to Brisbane until after the Storm game.

No point demoting Norman yet when his successor isn't fit and we've got an Origin affected game coming up.
 
Just so dissapointed for the boys they gave it their all and to have it cruelly snatched away is just gut-wrenching. So proud of everyone's effort they can hold their heads high.

I did expect something from you, I just expected an actual argument not a quick poke and walk.

I'd rather lose a game because a risk didn't pay off than lose games time and time again because the Broncos refused to nut up and try something.
 
It was really disappointing to see so many tries go begging so late in the game. Eh if Norman or Gillett passed. Prince and Wallace relay dominated that second half. Thaiday played really well. Origin players backing up and hannant being injured really cost us. We were looking so tired compared to them.

Not the first time you've been deluded. A player's of Princes experience and perceived quality should have known a simple catch and pass through the hands and Hodges or Maranta were going to score. Throwing the speculator pass wasn't called for. We didn't need to take a risk at that stage.
 
If it wasn't for Prince, we might not have even been leading when Hurrell scored - he created Maranta's try, remember.

Blaming him for the loss is silly.

If he went to Hodges, Hodges would've been wrapped up almost instantaneously. The defence was on top of him.
