This is a good team, nicely balanced. Of course Coates is a bummer but he's an 'origin' player, so can't really drop him unfortunately. It also rewards the boys for a last start win. Happy to see X-Man 1 getting close to a debut too.

They'll lose because they always do when expected to win but this side is about as good as can be put out, I like it.

I guess I'd just be another headline for the media if Coates went from 'origin player' to reserve grader even though he's our 5th best winger.. can't really drop him unfortunately unless he a really really bad game.
Like that Willisons getting closer have only seen him when he was playing for PBC looks like he is in the similar mould to Haas big and mobile.. how's he been in ISC?

I wouldn't get too worked up by this list, but forthcoming changes might not make you happier.

1. Haas, Flegler and Coates are expected to back up from Origin. Anything could happen before then, but Coates is the most likely of those three not to be withdrawn. I would be surprised if all three back up.

2. Bullemor and Staggs have been in rehab, meaning their match day fitness could go either way. The club isn't being public about this.

3. If Staggs withdraws, Walters will bring in Isaako or Arthars. He might in that process fiddle even further with the fullback/centres. Croft, Gamble, and Farnworth can goalkick, but Isaako would be better. Bricks will be shat if Jamayne returns as fullback and Tesi goes to centre. But it's not off the cards.

Yep.
Basically Kevin is a rookie coach whichever way you look at it with a side currently running at the wrong end of the spectrum and as such we entitled to default to safety.

Can't blame him for that but to my way of thinking he has a few choices - go forward trying to save his own skin ( yes I know he has another 12 months), push hard to try and make top eight ( as a part of the first choice) or do his best with a rebuild this year and hit our straps in 22.

Not that it matters but I was hoping for the latter. It appears I don't have a clue.

a) a player isn't picked on the basis of goal kicking alone

b) People whinged relentlessly before the Sharks game about Arthars being on the bench instead of Paix. and if Staggs is fit and with a game into his legs now, Arthars would be unlikely to get on the field. Paix is the better choice because Turpin isn't an 80 minute hooker

Coates has chosen to not be a Bronco next year. We are in a process of rebuilding (apparently) and should therefore choose for him to not be a part of our plans this year. On your bike Xavier - you are no longer one of us.
