All I said after Game 2 is he didn't look ready for Origin. He didn't even last 2 minutes in Game 3.

Sorry what's that? nearly 12,000 fans voted for their team of the series and Cobbo got 29% of the vote behind To'o on 40% for "Best Winger"... Cough, what was that again?

He had one okay game. One abominable game. And one where he didn't even last 2 minutes. Yeah sure, congrats. He wasn't ready for Origin. It's not an insult.

Now I know that he can be knocked out by a hip bone I don't want him to play again. He's been stamped never to play again in my book.

He’s only young, his soft spot will reduce with time. He should also develop the ability to talk soon too.

Too little too late- I also want Dallas Johnson and anyone else knocked out to have their Origin records wiped- shows they weren't ready.

Im prepared to give Niu time this year to show us what he should be for us moving forward.

So far, and its small sample theatre, what we have seen is very similar to what he was doing late last season..

He has good instincts around the ruck off the ball, and has good timing in his passing..

And then, he doesnt have a fullbacks instinct to follow the play, nor am i sure he talks as much as TMM does behind the defensive line...

So, im not fully sold on him being any kind of threat to Walsh if im honest...

That defensive work is horrific. Could justify being dropped for that alone. How is he still so bad at following the play? He’s young so I’ll give him a pass for lining up on the wrong side of the ruck but to put no effort into following the ball is unforgivable.

Any top 8 fullback would’ve been there to attempt to help with that tackle - many may have failed to stop the try but to be dawdling over as a fullback is a sackable offence

He had 1 good game, 1 bad game.

He got knocked out 2 minutes into the 3rd game, it's null and void what happened in the 3rd game. He didn't get knocked out because he wasn't ready.

It is the reason why he is likened to Isaako. In my opinion, Niu is an attacking weapon but is a defensive void. Isaako never got better at it and meant he has ended up being a fullback dud, will Tesi be able to fix it or will he go the same way?

Both are culprits at lacking urgency at the back. Whether it is a game awareness or an aerobic fitness thing I am not sure.

I have noticed that nui has been trying to improve his aspects of game, which he has been able to, but he still has lapses at times which can be expected as a young player.
